biggest profit items on ebay

Just wondering what you ebayers have found to be the most profitable items to sell secondhand? I have had very limited success of late on ebay with very little profit made.

Historically I sold a set of motivational CDs that I picked up fairly cheaply and sold for more than I bought them for. I have also sold books for a niche market that sold well but recently things have been much poorer.

What about any of you?

I have a rather nice line of very niche items available only in the UK. I sell mainly to the uS and Australia (although I've had my first Russian buyer today).

Books are beginning to die completely for me though.

i had a very niche market aswell that i made myself and sold at around 300% profit. it was in the alt/rock/geek fashion accessory market. i stopped purely because i just couldn't be bothered making them any more, but i'm starting to get a stockpile of them again and start selling again due to high demand and the fact there's nothing else like it on ebay or anywhere.

what was it? i'll never tell ;)

    their - 'owned by them'
    they're - 'they are'
it's bought not brought (i just bought my chicken a suit from that new shop for £6.34)

I haven't tried any books recently but picked up a text book for £3 that sells for £20+ new which was a bargain.

    Is anyone making decent profit?

I have seen a lovely house for sale at o/o £100k more than the one I would be selling so thinking about what items in the house I can sell lol

If you're looking for a product to sell as a business, stick to things people use every day, or commodity items - the market for anything particularly frivolous is still fairly downbeat, I'm afraid. Pure collectables - stamps, postcards and stuff like that that used to be a good bet on eBay - are just not selling at all.

I listed a couple of DVDs over the last month on BIN for a reasonable price, and they just sat there the whole 30 days :(. Going to keep them until nearer Christmas.

Motivational/self-help/spiritual stuff does go very well, I used to collect tarot cards before I settled on one particular deck and I have just finished selling off what I didn't want to keep. Also sold a couple of meditational CDs, but not for very much.

I don't intend to buy things to sell on but was just wondering what would be worth selling as I haven't had much luck with sales recently when I have had clear outs.

I sold some items which I made quite a big profit on recently. They are very niche though and you need to know the market.

That would be perfect, it would save a fortune on using the tumble drier :p
