1and1 versus 123.reg?

Firstly to answer Steve about his .com name as opposed to a .co.uk name - a .com is picked up by google a lot better and by American sites thus you can move up the rankings a bit quicker as your site is easier to find (so I have been told by an internet marketeer).
I will never use 1and1 - they are probably the worst company I have ever come across, they renewed some domains without my permission - domains that I had actually cancelled and then they started sending solicitors letters and set debt collection agencies onto me - it took ages to sort it out with calls to Consumer Direct (the one local to them as a file on them that is 2 inches thick) and Nominet as well as 1and1. It took several stressful months to get the situation resolved.
I have purchased domains from 123reg without any problems and once had hosting from them via printing.com who sorted out my website for me (big mistake), I now have hosting elsewhere and my domain names have been renewed and new ones bought from heartinternet who seem to be very reliable.0 -
I registered a top-level personal domain with citycm last night as they offered it for only £6 a year and sure enough, a whois check today reveals all my personal information has been published alongside it. I've opened a "ticket" with the support to get my details removed but I'm assuming they're not open on Sunday. It's a shame as I feel I can't use the domain until my details are taken down.0

Update: Gareth, at City CM removed my details about an hour after I submitted the ticket. I'm very impressed!0
