Hi guys and girls
just a quick word of warning iam on ESA full rate and was asked to attend a ATOS medical. To cut a long story short i was told that i could have a home visit. I thought great saves me trying to get to the medical center. But this morning at 10am there was a knock at the door and there was the atos DR standing there wanting to come in and give me the medical. He said that they wrote to tell me the date / time but he had not got a copy of this letter. Anyway he came in and did the medical and left. I was just wondering weather they dont tell you when they are coming to try and trick you out. I had nothing to hide but it would of been nice to get some warning just to get paper work out. Has any one else had this.

They do normally write and tell you. I have not heard of this happening to anybody else, so I would say it was either an error or the letter got lost in the post.Gone ... or have I?0

It would not have been a deliberate attempt to try and catch you out, as said above it was probably an error or the letter lost in the post.0 -

The only people that would turn up unannounced would be a Compliance Officer. A doctor's time is far too precious to be making random visits where somebody may or may not be home. Added to that, ATOS play no part in fraud investigation, and so have no interest in catching you out.Gone ... or have I?0 -

That is not trying to trip you up, that is asking questions that people do not have stock/ prepared answers for. You have to remember that not every claimant is honest, and therefore they need to ask questions that do not have obvious answers.
As I stated before, ATOS do not get involved with compliance issues. The only time you will have a purposely unannounced visit would be from the DWP.Gone ... or have I?0 -

That is not just what I think, that is the way it is. Anyway you did ask the question and I was trying to be helpful in answering it!
My post was basically a confirmation of the first reply which I would have hoped you would understand was to make it clearer for you. People often answer with the same reply or a similar reply because it backs up what has been said, I really cannot see a problem.0 -

He would most likely have been a nurse.0 -

They have targets too meet regardless of your illness/disability.0
