No, mine don't light up! When you turn the brush head switch off its not so noisy. Thats how i know if its off.
But if ever I stray from the path I follow
Take me down to the English Channel
Throw me in where the water is shallow And then drag me on back to shore!
'Cos love is free and life is cheap As long as I've got me a place to sleep
Clothes on my back and some food to eat I can't ask for anything more

Just to say thanks again to the OP - this really does look like a fantastic bargain.:j

I got one today in Glasgow - one question though mine clearly states on the box that it is a two year guarantee??? - I checked the argos site again today and it says five years - what gives? Anyone any thoughts?

I also never got any vouchers - though i didn't know to ask

OK - so we can all register for a five year guarantee - even though the one we have bought says its only two years?

If that's the case then I am very happy. These are still going for a fortune on amazon.

It looks to me like they are discontinuing the allergy one and just going to keep puting out the basic dc15 and the pets one albeit fitted with the allergy filter.

Once again thanks for all the info.

    Your Guarantee
All new Dyson vacuum cleaners purchased after 27th July 2006 now receive a Dyson 5 year guarantee. We’re certain it’s the only part of your Dyson you won’t put to good use. But if you do, just ask and we’ll try to fix the problem over the phone. If we can’t, we’ll aim to send a Dyson engineer to see you within 3 working days.

You can take a screen grab and print that out , it gets around not being able to right click on the Argos site.
