My apologies to all, including the someone I know from Knock  ... Can't recall why I thought the destination for that fated flight was Knock - I knew it landed at the wrong place in Northern Ireland - just shows that anyone's compass can go awry at the most awkward moments, especially if you overlay something you think you know with something you are expecting to know ... the full SP is in the Incidents and Accidents section of this Wiki page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/City_of_Derry_Airport - also quite interesting is that the actual destination airport itself was closed by the CAA (they cover NI airport matters of course, not the IAA) for a time, citing reasons that included criticism of ineffective bird control - (birdstrikes not such a lottery afterall?) - the airport was re-opened again soon afterwards though so we may presume all is 100% well again thereYour general knowledge places Knock airport in the wrong country
Here's an interesting calculation using some of Nobjocki's numbers - 1000 flights a day x 365 days x 189 passengers max per aircraft.0 -

Passenger figures from Ryanair's website.0 -
Nobjocki;37327914]Yup - Ryanair has a modern fleet with a 100% safety record.
Ryanair have had accidents -fact - my post #120 confirms this.
Accident = an unplanned event, that happens unexpectedly and causes injury or damage.
Now even you must agree that the use of 'accident' and 'safety' can be used in relation to each other in this case and although they have had no injuries (I have never disputed this) they have had a few prangs that have cause damage to equipment.
As I have already stated, I agree that they are 100% injury/fatality free - that cannot be disputed, but by stating that they have a "100% safety record" - your terminology - not mine - is simply not true.
I noticed that when you realised that you had lost the argument that you then cunningly changed you stance to100% safety record in airline fatalities
Talk about moving the goalposts!
The evidence (which you asked for and I provided) quite clearly and unambiguously shows that they do not have a 100% safety record.
Now who's the 'numpty'?
You can always tell that when you are losing the argument when you resort to childish comments or remarks about the posters who disprove you - not just on this thread either.
Easy to do when your anonymous and hiding behind a computer screen (very brave) - shame you cannot say them to my face!0 -
Well...i like dpassmore's comments but i also agree with some of nobjocki's posts........but who is correct......there is only one way to find out........FIGHT........handbags at dawn.....Ryanair have had accidents -fact - my post #120 confirms this.

Handbags at dawn........who's Dawn? but can I watch anyway,
better make it tomorrow or I'll be on my way to the airport.0 -
I like flying Ryanair, they're the only airline to fly to the airport in Finland that I need, so instead of being a necessary evil I try and enjoy myself (hand luggage only - I had 6.5k there and back and I'm a girl, I take my own food, but cos of allergies I need to anyway)
Yup, I have to sleep in Stansted overnight sometimes, but with a cuppa teato wake up to and toilets to go freshen up in, I've not been inconvenienced yet. And the flights are damn cheap compared to anyone else I'd fly with (usually less that a third of the price - Finn Air are the only other airline who fly to Tampere-Pirkkala airport and they're extremely expensive)** Total debt: £6950.82 ± May NSDs 1/10 **** Fat Bum Shrinking: -7/56lbs **
**SPC 2012 #1498 -£152 and 1499 ***
I do it all because I'm scared.

It sounds like you're my kind of girl, (but don't tell Mrs. Bob the saver )0 -
