I have looked on there and he is not on there at all, not even as an old business??
    Strange.
he is registered on the SRA according to the bottom of the page though. Is there a way to check without ringing them?

Will wait for you to post back then.

What will you do as you have already spoken to Paragon and they have agreed this amount with you?

Was it Peter or Guy that txt you? I would be very careful so as not to lose what you have already sorted yourself.

It was guy, I have not heard from Peter since July. I am a bit concerned that the phone contact for peter is no longer usable.

I am not sure whether to ask him for all my paperwork and to see what has been done, He has obviously sent my original request and also the reoffer request. He just drags his heels and takes his time in letting me know for some reason. Paragon are sending me what guy would have sent me anyway, paperwork to sign to accept the offer. The only thing I worry about is if I send it back to guy it will be another couple of months before anything else happens and I would like this money before xmas!!

And also whether he has anything signed by you to receive the redress directly to him so he can take his cut if you do owe anything. You really need to find what you signed (this time) with Petermb and also this Guy. Seems strange how he got in touch today after you stated you had received your offer and it was coming directly to you.

have you checked the claims management register to see if he has been deauthorised?

if he has then he cant come after you for any money.
I think it was passed from Peter to a solicitor? I think it may be the solicitor that would want his cut.

Apparently the fees for about 5 hours work is going to be £1500! That is shocking! He says he will claim these from paragon as part of the deal. Apparently his colleague received the paperwork and put it to one side and forgot to pass it on. great practice. I am not sure I believe half of what I am told as now he was on holiday in August as well, must be raking the money in!
Peter is no longer working as Fair return as it didnt work out. I am not sure about his fees. But he said I would have no charges
I am hoping this is all going to be sorted quickly now and done with.

  • Pammy you need to be very clear about this. It seems to me that what will happen is that the solicitor's fee will come out of what is owed to you, so in effect you will not pay the solicitor, but you will be paying for the solicitor (if that makes sense). If I were you I would clarify that.
