The logic is, Your changing the risk on the policy and they know your mid term so can charge what they like.
Your options are cancel the policy, (THEY WIN)
Pay them the kings ransom, Arms and legs, Blood etc. (THEY WIN)
If you cancel you lose the potential no claims earned so far.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
But the risk is lesser. That's my only confusion. I've written a letter which'll probably do very little but hey. I've only been with them 2 months!0

Just because the area is quiet does not mean its less of a risk.
Maybe all the bad drivers live in your postcode? Everyone has made several claims already this year?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Don't get insured by these d**** my policy runs out in 3 days and i rejected the renewal due to i could get it cheaper.
Received a text yesterday that i had a accident 4 months ago reported yesterday my car has a tracker.
U get bonus miles every month up to 100 miles per month from how u drive at the times of day.
I gained 95% miles that month but if i drove on the motorway i would have received 100% miles.
Which i supposed have had a accident at 00.01 peak times between 10pm till 4am which my tracker proves were i was which my tracker stated i was at home at the time of the accident.
Beware don't get insure from these people0 -
I am with them since past 1.5 years now. I reduced the number of miles i needed, keeping my 1st year's mileage in mind. I am about to finish my mileage but, I have about 1500 bonus mile on my account. I asked them to add them to my account and they said, they will take 2 months to d that!!!!!!!!!!
I am wondering which planet are my bonus miles coming from???!!!!0 -
Hiya,
This company offered me insurance for around £600 for the year for the 6,000 miles option, whilst the main stream companies offered for double this price.
Therefore I am seriously considering going with them, as for at least 4 of the 12 months the car will be stationary as I will be travelling.
Would you recommend I stay away and go with the mainstream companies?

Hi,
My son took out insurance with Insure the Box in May of this year (2014) for his VW Polo. He's a student at Portsmouth University. ITB quote was competitive at £630 for a 12-month policy through Tesco Bank with me as a named driver. His driving record has been exemplary since the box was fitted.
Today I contacted ITB to advise of a change of address as he was moving to a new Uni house 250 metres away. They informed me that this would incur an ADDITIONAL premium of £730.00. Not £90.00 more £730 more!!!
When I questioned them they told me it was due to their computer saying that the new address was in a higher risk area. I'm not sure if anyone knows Portsmouth, especially the Southsea area but all the houses and roads look very similar and if my arm was in better shape I could throw a tennis ball between the houses.
I won't rant on too much but needless to say we cancelled, paid their penalty charges of £80.00 and have a new policy with Endsleigh Insurance which worked out at £920.00 for 12 months without the need of a box.
I hope this helps anyone, especially students living away from home, make a decision as to who they insure their car with. I would not recommend ITB to anyone.
Let the buyer beware.
