hi just joined i have passed my test in the last two months and i am finding it hard to get my insurance below 3000 at least i tried insure the box but still got a quote of 5000+
i am 17, male and live in liverpool i know my area code is about a b or c which is fairly ok i have been trying for a vauxhall corsa 1.0 52 plate i am wondering does any one have any advice such as phoning the companies instead of using the internet? this is very frustrating going through the hard work of passing my test and then suddenly i cant even drive again.
fortunately i need my licence for work otherwise although i dont like to say it i would probably be driving uninsured. sorry to offend any one if i did with that last bit.0 -
Insure the box are a real company. My son was also worried about the Gibralter connection, but discovered that apparently quite a few reputable insurance firms are based there. He has been very happy with them.0

Hi Sally
I am wondering why all your posts on this forum are about insurethebox? It looks like its your job to defend the company0 -

That is a little harsh. I have posted quite a bit about a company called I-Kube which is a similar concept. My posts have been because I have been extremely happy with the price and service and just want to pass on my information to similar people looking for insurance for their teenage children. Nothing more sinister than that and certainly not connected to the company in any way. Sally is more than likely doing exactly the same. I am grateful when people post about their experiences on companies - no matter how many times they post.0 -
I am about to find out from Insure The Box after being with them a year what my new quote will be? I will come back and let you know lol!0

Be very careful about insure the box.
I can well believe that some of the 1 or 2 post users on here are posting on behalf of the company.
We took a policy out for our sin and have discovered that it is really not all it is presented as - customer service is really poor, emails go unanswered., complaints ignored, so called bonus miles are inconsistent and no clear guidelines exist.
The data seems to be questionable and they have no set time when it is updated. Email alerts for approaching the limit do not happen - potentially leaving you at risk of breaking the law.
The company seems to exist to sell extra miles ( and my sines are 41 p per mile!!!)
We have a complaint in at the moment but over 4 weeks they still have not responded..
I will post further details as soon as I have time but please - anyone considering this company be very very careful.0 -
Logs in almost daily to read this one thread.
What do Mackerel, Trout, Cod, Haddock, Plaice, Pilchards, Tuna, Salmon, Kippers all have
in common?
And nope they dont spam message boards on behalf of a company.

Hi Sarah
i suspected the same thing and hence posted the comment above and got a very stenchy response.
Can you tell us what has happened to you while you were insured with insurethebox?
thanks0 -
Definately be careful with insure the box, my son has just had his car written off, under normal insurance terms you still have to pay the full amount that is outstanding (that is fair enough, I work in insurance myself so am fully aware of that), however also with normal insurance companies you can do a change of vehicle on the existing policy so that it still runs it's normal term, basically so that you are still getting the full years insurance that you paid for. Insure the box have told my son that as the vehicle is a total loss his policy ceases to exist and he must still pay for the full years insurance! Like the person above I have tried comunicating by e-mail but get no answers, I have tried speaking to the claims department but it is constantly engaged, I rang and the idiot that I spoke to put me on hold for 15 minutes but I didn't give up I waited paitently for his return (I think he was hoping I would give in and hang up). I am taking this further it is not normal for an insurance company to charge the full years premium but only give 3 months worth of insurance, I am going to the ombudsman with this one as I am not getting anywhere with insure the box.0
