I have had an e mail saying there has been a mistake with the date for 50/50, does anyone know whether it is on the 21st or 22nd in Liverpool One, please.
    Thank you

Tickets have been issued for both dates. You should have received a reminder by now which will confirm the date. You can also log in and check the tickets you have booked.

Almost jumped out of my seat on the bus reading the latest post on the FREE cinema tix thread - tickets to see Hugo. Not quite free though :( Scrolled down to find prices are 50 quid, or even 100 for those willing to pay a small fortune for this not FREE event! Grrr
  • I haven't been drinking THAT much this evening...so where are all of today's posts disappeared to?!

Oooh I wonder. Amazingly, the post for the £100 tickets and the chat on codes on No Discussion are still there! lol

Well my friend and I were looking forward to an evening with Brad Pitt in the Moneyball at the Cineworld 02, Greenwich. We battled through the underground to get there in plenty of time, to be met with a confused usher who initially thought we were at the wrong cinema! Thankfully his colleague was better informed...

    6:45pm - still no film!
Cinema rep informed us of a technical glitch that would hopefully be resolved in 5-10 minutes. Pleas for "free popcorn", from those clearly not happy with just free preview ticket, were ignored - hehe!

    6:55pm - still no film :(
This time a more technical bod came in to inform us the "key code" was not working. They had emailed (showfilmfirst we presumed) but it was still not working. So we were given the option to a) wait, on the off-chance a miracle may occur...b) watch Twilight...c) watch the Sky preview of Take Shelter

Twilight was a definite no-no for me, to my friend's dismay. So we opted for Take Shelter, having done a quick search on rottentomatoes (94%).

Take Shelter - initially came across like a bad made for TV 80s flick!
A pretty decent movie...although 2 long hours totally unnecessary in my opinion.

Appreciated the gesture of seeing an alternative, but would've preferred Brad!!
  • Watched Moneyball last night, the movie started on time, it was about 90% full.

If you're a baseball fan its a good watch, interesting factual movie.

2 more free movies to see this week. :j

We didn't get the option of Moneyball in Liverpool but that didn't bother me particularly not being a fan of baseball or Brad Pitt in particular. So I was quite happy with Take Shelter and thought it was quite an intense film that kept me transfixed throughout. To be fair I don't think this viewpoint was shared by any of my friends who saw it with me :(

    Tenth Anniversary
Our screening on Moneyball stopped last night, for about 2/3 minutes, just as they were trading some players. Talk about confusion! lol

Pretty decent movie tho, big fan of true stories. I've even been to a few of the grounds to watch baseball games as well. IT's funny how all the teams use the same tune for their chants 'Lets go red sox' 'Lets go yankees' Lets go Oaky A's'...

A random role for the superbadboy

    8/10
