Its the issue that came out today for 5th Nov onwards. It states in the terms and conditions that a copy of the page must be shown with the ticket, but i've personally never been asked to show it.

Thanks...... (wasn't sure what edition it was - luckily may get it anyway as part of the 12 for £1 promo)

Nope, its happened a few times recently. More annoying when the individuals have been forum members for ages and preach to the rest of us re: duplicate codes!

At least I got some tickets for The Awakening out of it :T

  • Boo I checked first thing this morning and now and nothing in my local cinema! The trailer looks good too
  • Does anyone know the cinemas available for the Times plus showing of 50/50,?? Was wondering if it is worth taking out a subscription.

    See my post.
  • Machine Gun Preacher... What an absolutely astonishing film! The fact that it's based on true events makes it even more special. It is good to see that in this world some people are making a difference and helping the most needy of us. If any film deserves to be seen it is certainly this one, if not only for Butler's brilliant performance, certainly to see the reality of some people's lives and help a good cause by donating.

Just to add it was a shame to see that half of the audience yesterday left during the credits where you were shown real life Sam Childers. Is it because these people don't care and weren't affected by the film they watched??
  • Anyone know if you are tied in for a long time on Times subscriptions or if you can joust join for a week or two?

I was one of those who got up and left in the credits, although I did wait to see the Sam Childers picture, but I could quite easily have got up and left at about 30mins into the film. I thought the film was incredibly slow and boring. The film itself could have been so much more, it could and should have gone into Sam Childers life before going to Africa a lot more, I didnt even realise he dealt drugs as well as took them as the film really didn't depict how "off the rails" he was. Also once in Africa I just felt it didn't follow a particular path, it was too much here and there, I wanted to see how and when they get attacked, and then the aftermath in one sequence, where as it seemed to flit to different parts of attack and then later you see a bit of the aftermath. All in all, of course it made me much more aware of how terrible it must be for them in Africa but the film just didn't do it for me. I will read his book instead to see exactly what parts were truths.
