My kitchen jobs done now - and a bit of gardening, too:
[STRIKE]Sweep and mop the floor
Clear and wipe worksurfaces
Shine the sink
Hang up the washing and clear the airing cupboard
Empty dishwasher
Make spare ribs
Wipe fronts of appliances and units, and the bins
Wipe table and replace cloth if needed and polished with beeswax polish ...mmmmmm....
Wash the windows[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]1 hour gardening: weeding the front border and pruning and planting bulbs[/STRIKE]
Albatross List for the week:
* Piano tuner - arrange (he talks for ages and ages)
* Check Websaver gas rates are still OK for us
* School Gift Wrap order - [STRIKE]means going through the wrapping paper drawer...[/STRIKE] looked through the drawer, but need to place order now...
* Autoglass chip-mending for car windscreen?
[STRIKE]* Write difficult letter to D.L. and post it[/STRIKE]
* Savings with DH - ours; DD's (means dealing with the Halifax ) - both on their way, but not as easy as all that (of course)
[STRIKE]* Do my income tax form on-line [/STRIKE]YAY!!!!!!! :T:T:T
[STRIKE]* Orchestra form to take next week (before they throw DD out![/STRIKE]:o)
* Finally sort out Broadband connection - have yelled lots at BT for all the missed appointments; have managed eventually to get an engineer; have got a new HomeHub for free and have got £20 from them for the missed apptments. :T Now just have to install the new HomeHub when it arrives, and hope it works.....
* Copy DD's music recordings for relatives (recorded August... and promised then)
* Finances for Sept; budget for Oct
I've also had lunch, taken the ribs out of the oven and had a bath.
Just a small bit of harvesting to do in the garden, then off on school run.
Won't be around tomorrow till later: DD has a really, really important audition in the morning, playing the cello (and I have to take her there). Please send some good luck vibes her way if you can: it'll help calm my nerves (I'm terribly stressed out on her behalf, and am trying not to let it show....)
Hugs to all who need them

Good luck to your dd MissH and calming vibes for you xx
Dusty - what I really find unfair about he child allowance is that if you have a couple and each earn £40K they can still get the child allowance but if you have one parent earning £44k and the other nothing or very little then you lose it. That makes perfect sense - not!
No flying done but I have done last tax years accounts and made this years up-to-date! So pleased I've done them!
Going to look at the list and make a start when I've had lunch.
Hugs to all xx0 -
MissHiggery fingers crossed for your DD and calming vibes for you.
Knitters? - I have booked a free knitting session at JL to remind me how to knit, I only ever reached a very basic level. If I want to knit a snood would I need a ring thing and is that too advanced?
Back from town. Got a great stocking filler/small gift for DS2 and vouchers for friend's birthday. Just need to get a little gift as something to open for Friday. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -

That is exactly how I feel and I am so sure that there are many in that situation. It means that people who are just under the £44k limit at the moment and got a small pay rise would not only start paying higher rate tax but would also loose their child benefit so a regular inflation increase would make them much worse offThe birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -

In case they came in handy of course :rotfl:MissHiggerty wrote: »

Back from funeral - went well IYKWIM
Still no sign of roofer and it has been a perfect day for outside work.0 -
I find it interesting that its a very un-Conservative approach. Normally they would penalise couples where both work (the wife should stay home with the kids) and normally they wouldn't penalise high earners of any description. Interesting.
Decluttered a day's teaching, but 'tis all. Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0 -
