Just spoken to DS & she is going back tomorrow. He wants a week to clear his head & do some serious thinking & will then come down to talk things through. We have suggested he comes down next Tuesday as by then we will know situation re further surgery.
We have told him that we will offer as much support as we are able to & help him come up with a sensible plan.

I think you are doing just the right thing.

Your priority quite rightly is your husbands health and as you have said he needs all of your support. Without meaning to sound harsh, your son has got himself into this situation, and GF does have support back in the US from Dad. Are you sure she will not be entitled to full antenatal care with the new bill that has been passed?

Tough love is definitely called for, my mum and dad didnt do it to my brother and I cannot tell you the amount of grief and issues it caused. At nearly 40 finally they have decided not to support him financially any longer

Hope things go well for your husband, and dont worry about your feelings they are perfectly normal!!

My previous post should have said she would not be entitled to antenatal care over here without it costing them.
