Flower08 - I love your sweetie bags ..... take no notice, men are funny creatures ..... you should be really really chuffed with them, they really are LOVELY.
Emmamumof2 - Jingle Bell Box - I make all my own boxes. I have a scoreboard bought dead cheap off e-bay that has score lines every 1cm - I think the gentleman I bought it off made them in his garage ..... sorry I can't give you a link as it was afew years back .... but its another tool I cannot craft without.
Flourgirl - thank you for offer of template downloads - I think I have the handbag - is it a Quickutz download? I download every box and bag they bring out, I'm just guilty of not using them!
Lilmiss - I love your reindeer poop bags and feel I must go to Matalan to get a pack. I love 3D tags as they make very cheap 3D toppers for cards - I have a pack of 18 I got for £1.99 from one of those Christmas shops that spring up at this time of year. They are on my desk waiting for me to turn them into cards!!
BitsyBeans - I love your card - stunning in its simpleness - can I ask where you got the stamp from as it is just my style.
Hollie84 - I love your mints - I've always done my mints in packs of 4 - this year I am going to do them in packs with the ribbon hangers on like yours.
CottonwoolKatie - love your calendar too - I am making a list of all the things I want to make next week ..... and I'd forgotton to put calendars on it!0 -

What size heart punch are you looking for i have smallish woodware ones and a bigger fiskers squeeze heart punch.
hi craftygranny, thanks will add that to the one flypig gave me to look at. the hearts would be to use as table confetti along the lines of this size.

Morning Ladies!!
Craftygranny - you make a brill PA thank you!!!
I have thrown the box away for the purple candy cames but there were 12 for £1 im not sure about flavour, vant taste or smell at the mo but when i am feeling better i will investigate!!
Die Cutting Machines - On my home page there is a list of all the machines i have had and still have (must update that with the slice elite!)
I do currently have a big shot and a cuttlebug, they are both great machines. For me my fave is the bigshot, but space is not an issue for me, the bigshot just feels that bit sturdier and i do like to try and cram as much as i can through it!! On the other hand the cuttlebug is compact as it folds up (i store all my cutting mats in a little basket and my bug folded until i want to use it) they both operate on a sandwich type system where you layere up your dies and paper with a selection of cutting pads to get the correct thickness. With these machines all you need to replace are the cutting plates them selves but you can get a lot of use out of them i have useded mine till they were so warped they cracked, taped them together and used them some more!!! from memory plates should be under a tenner to replace. the only other costs involved are the dies them selves which do vary somewhat depending on the brand and size - a set of nesties will set you back around £16 (although some places do 4 sets for £60 so you could club together to save a little) and you can oftem pick up sizzix sizzlits dies in a sale for about 2-3 pounds.
Electric Machines - i would say your choices are between a robo (or silhouettte - same machine) and a cricut (i have both) i have the 12x12 cricut but seeing as you were looking at the slice which only cuts as large as 4" you could cope with a 12"x6" cricut in the 12x6 range there is the original cricut (these are no longer made but you may find a good deal on one) and the cricut create - i have had both and while the create does have a couple of extra features there is not really any difference in performance. Fo me there is a great range of designs for the cricut and if you layer the designs up they look great, a lot of the cards i post have some cricut cutting invloved!! you can also get several different softwares (SCAL being one) that allow you to hook your cricut up to cour computer to create your own designs and cut any font you have stored or can download. That leads nicely onto the robo which is a computer run machine - you can pick up the lite version for about £99 but there is quite a learning curve with this machine, these days robo users can access the quickutz online store which you pay a monthly subscription to and get so many design downloads with that.
Only wanted to give you a little over view of everything but happy to answer any questions!
if you are looking at a manaul machine but funds are tight it does pay to shop around and most places offer free shipping too

another little idea to tempt you into getting a cutter....
Snowflake hairclips!!!0 -
Hi Lisa, thanks for your post. I've been thinking of getting a Big Shot to cut fabric shapes for applique. What dies can you use with the Big Shot? I'm after simple shapes (birds, cupcakes, etc) and an alphabet. Also some Christmas shapes would be nice. All of the shapes/letters I want to be about 3 inches high.
Would the BS be the one to go for? And could you suggest some dies to go with it. I have tried searching for them but there are so many different types it's a bit mind boggling
Thanks.Cos I don't shine if you don't shine.0 -
Flyingpig it is a Quickutz download so yes you will probably have it, you sound just like me and have them all
size wise I cut it out as it is on the file,( I did delete the holes as I made a handle with a strip of card) but the doggies I resized to 3cm at the widest bit and they seem a perfect fit. Have you tried the new Silhouette Studio Software. I'm running that and Robo and I must say I find the Studio one so much easier.
Craftfairies what a gorgeous hairclip.
I'm going to Home Bargains and B&M this morning.. anything I should look out for please.0 -
thankyou Lisa for all the info,i dont like anything that i can't get to grips with straight away it would end up through the window
will take a look at the cricut,so far im swaying towards that or the cuttlebug.i keep my stuff in a storage trolley under the stairs and all my other bits, ribbon, scissors etc in the shoe boxes that came with it so wouldn't really have lots of room for a large machine.i need a second house to store everything
