Chaos, I brought some Gondolier's Chocolate Cream Wafers from £land. They will make wonderful "arms" in my Make-A-Snowman
They are the long thin biscuits with chocolate inside them ... Will take a picture if you would like.
I used those last year i put one in a pretzel bag and stuck a star gift tag on for the fairy ones so it looked like a wand .
Could you use a mini bulldog clip to hold all the calendar pages together or stick a couple of paperclips to your board and slide the pages under . Sounds daft even to me now sorry.Cross Stitch Challenge Member Number 20

Ooooo Craftgranny!!! YOU STAR!!! Paperclips!!!
One either side to hold the paper, so he can just gently pull them off!!! I knew someone would come up with a good idea!!!
If I can't find any paperclips, then I'll steal one of the better half's lil bulldog clips!

A lot of my sour cream containers have come apart a bit, even though I've used a different DS tape after having problems before. This one is wider, and the type where you peel off the white bit. I've had pegs on them too, but have now had to resort to bits of sellotape on the inside. They are made from coloured paper, not card, so I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. Any suggestions?
I used pritt stick (well a cheaper version) to glue my cartons together, used clothes pegs to help keep them together with the humbugs inside and they've stuck fast. Never occured to me to use DT
right mini crisis - can't get candy canes for love nor money. My local Poundland has none and nor does the one in Brum (according to my H but take that with a pinch of salt).
According to mysupermarket.com Sainsbury's have 12 for £1 which is the same price. Please wish we luck getting them otherwise I am going to have a problem
Whilst I popped into town today for more supplies I picked up these festive party cups from £land and some flannels (edited to add flannels were NOT from £land but Textile Direct shop)I didn't like the full cup so I cut it down with a pair of scissors - what do you think? Cupcakes or not? My H thinks they look like ice creams :rotfl:
Not sure if you are aware but The Works sell self adhesive magnetic stripsIt's easy to cut with a pair of normal scissors and you get 4 strips for 99p. You can cut it to the right width and stick it on. I've found one little bit is enough to hold the peg to say the fridge but not enough if you're wanting to hold anything else (which is the whole point of them). I've used 3 little sections and it holds a reasonable amount of paper - at least 3-4 sheets.
And to my shame I've discovered not only do I have a tube of Anita's Tacky Glue (I nearly bought some today) I've got a shed load of self adhesive ribbons from Anita's all in a craft set that I've not touched for years:o So glad I bought the items for the pegs on a whim

I've managed to photograph my peg fridge magnets and my cookie cutters now and they are on my homepage if anyone would like to see them!
Just been sorting out my ribbons to see whether I should get some more pegs! I think I will get more pegs and more ribbons!!!The E-mail of the species is more deadly than the mail.0 -

This is what I have been making this afternoon......
Jars are from Poundworld, but they don't have them very often so I buy them in bulk when I see the, But IKEA have Rajtan jars which are almost identical for £1.99 for 4
Bells and felt snowflake are from paperchase
And you recognise the scalloped and plain punches from previous ideas.
All filled with Poundworld jelly beans.0 -
Hello all - heavens ! My brains going round with all the catching up to do...............lol
Well done all on the fab makes......some super ideas.
ZMHoward - I print off my calendars and try and cut each month so there's a bit to fold over the next month at the top, add pritt stick or dble.sided sticky tape and a couple of staples at the top when its all together. Worked ok so far. hth
I always get in a pickle with attaching a pen to the board so this year I've stuck a peg on covered with matching paper and it holds the pen a treat.
Not done much today as having a bad day with tinnitus:eek: Horrible - constant buzzing noise and makes me feel very disorientated. Still, did manage to finish off a notebook I'd covered, ribbon attached to hold a pen that I covered with matching paper. I'd covered a diary to match and some peg magnets so they're now all tied up with that curly ribbon and in a red voile bag with a box of Cranberry handcream and body cream.
Found a journal I covered with fabric last year and rooted through my stick on letters to find enough for ''Journal 2011'' so thats done now.I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

My daughter is saving to go to america so i've bought her a poundland savings tin (but....its covered in disney princesses..and not quite what i want lol).
I am going to glue the usa flag all over but would like to coat it with something clear afterwards to seal the paper on.
Has anyone any ideas for something cheap that would do this?
