Guys don't let the many options on picnik confuse you. I followed a tutorial the first time i used it as i'm really tecnically challenged!!. The link to the tutorial is on my blog http://scratchycatcrafter.blogspot.com/2010/10/how-to-make-your-own-printables.html

but i'll try and give some easy instructions (be warned i'm rubbish at this!!)
1)click on college tab once you have entered the website
2)Now this next bit is a bit of a guess to me but basically leave the 4 square grid on the page if you want a label or tag or maybe click on the 2 squares on the basic option from the left of the screen if you want a topper.
3)on the left where you have differnet options like basic, spacing etc click on the square next to the spacing bar which will then let you change the colour of your item.
4)Then click on done which is one of the tabs on the right hand side of the screen
5)then click on sticker tab to chose pics for your design and text to add text etc. this is the point where you play around
6)when you are happy with what you have done choose the sace and share tab to the right hand side at the top of the screen. This lets you save it to your pc and then you can insert it into word as a picture and stretch it etc and print it off.

Those instructions are probably as clear as mud so if you are still stuck have a look at the tutorial link on my blog or just send me a message:D

My nephews girlfriend has mentioned picnik in the past but she said it's not free. How much does it cost please?

Its free to register and its free to use. You can upgrade and get even more images and useful things but to begin with you don't need to. I started on the free level and have recntly upgraded as i have used it loads and want to have access to even more. The upgrade is in dollars and is $24.99 a year. I would avise using the free version and see what you think first xx

Flourgirl i love those boxes do you have any instructions as i'd love to give them a whirl.

Lil'p that si fantastic news:T. i am too scared to put any pics on my facebook or mention at work incase everyone who knows me thinks my makes are rubbish:o

Here is what i have made today
    IMGP6403.JPG
I designed the tags using picnik (i am seriously getting obsessed with the software!) and if anyone wants me to send them a copy of the tag just let me know.

This bag was made using a plain red value gift bag from Tesco (20p each 3 for 2 at the moment)

Doggy treats are definitely going to be on my to do list, also love the mints. Now I admit I have had a glass of wine (only one) but I can't work out what you have done with the packaging (for the mints). It looks like a tube inside a rectangular bag? If so what is the tube? Also the mints are tic tacs? Fab makes though!! Am desperate to start doing some more crafting, am half way through a lot of pegs, a batch of snowman soup and some sock cupcake mugs but am having to work and it gets in the way!!

... Anyone else have any other ideas as the calendar is small, so a hole punched in it, will take a big chunk out of the months ...

I made gift voucher books for my kids one year and I used my old sewing machine with no thread to perforate the vouchers so they would tear off (like a cheque book) ;)

eta Shirley Goode has mentioned seeing jar of 'traffic jam' for sale, three colours - green/gooseberry, amber/apricot and red/strawberry in separate layers, fab idea for a motorist :)
... don't throw the string away. You always need string! :D
