Boots Christmas Shopping Events

I'm sure other Bootsers will post some winning combinations in the weeks to come, but I thought the following memories might be of use to some people.
Someone posted on another thread that there is a free gift from November 3rd, when spending £22 or more on No 7 items. These usually contain a 250 points voucher, as do many of the No 7 gift sets ..... that are on 3 for 2 ....... but the till "sees" the value of all three items.
In previous years, you've been eligible for a free gift for each £22 that you spent. On one of the shopping evenings last year I bought:
 3 x Hands & Feet Gift Sets @ £20 each, on 3 for 2, and a P & P Beauty Serum, that was £18.50 at the time.
 I paid £40 for the gift sets, plus £18.50 for the P & P, less 10% over 60s discount = £58.50, less £5.85 = £52.65
The till deemed I was entitled to 3 free gifts, each containing a coupon for 250 points, and each of the gift sets had a coupon for 250 points, so I gained £15 in points coupons.
I received 1208 points for my purchase, plus I had 500 bonus points from a previous shopping evening, giving me 1708 points, or £17.08, which, added to the £15 I had in points coupons, gave me £32.08 in points.
To me, this meant in Boots Logic, that my 3 gift sets, plus my P & P, plus my 3 free gifts (ideal for Church Bazaars) had cost me just over 20 quid! :j:j:j
And this was the maximum I could have paid, because I would have used any ACM points vouchers as well. As you can see, having an A Level in Maths is nothing compared to the brain cells and calculations you need when you are Bootsing!!! Good Luck everyone.
 xx
PS The coupon in the Hands & Feet set is underneath the foot file
PPS My friend, who wasn't over 60, did a similar purchase on one of the evenings, so her bill came to £58.50 - but she used a £5 off No 7 voucher on her P & P, making her total £53.50 - the current voucher doesn't expire until after the first shopping evening this year. 0 0

not sure if this relevant to anyone else but I didn't get any mention of Christmas shopping nights in my mailing (I guess there are none on close to me) but I did get a voucher valid for 2 weeks for the extra 1000 points for every £50 spend. Hope that helps someone, I thought it was quite good....1% at a time no. 40. £8000 (For dream family holiday) 94/100
 MFW 2013 no. 62 £10,000/£10,000
 MFW 2014 no 62 £8000/£70000

Am also confused so bumping your post! (and now wondering if its really obvious and my A-Level from back in the day is now proven itself utterly worthless!:o)
What I understand, I spend £50, I get back £10 in points. £10 of £50 is 20% given back, no?
You have to spend £60 total to save £10. The original £50 + another £10 in points. SO it's £10 off £60. Hope that makes sense, it took me about 5 years to realise it.. and I didn't even realise it myself.. someone pointed it out to me D'oh!! D'oh!!
However, i'm still wrong because it's 1200 points (1000+200 extra) which is 20% (12 pounds off 60 total spend)
Just for the people like me who work it all out in loads of notebooks :rotfl::xmastree:Self Certified Christmas Addict:xmastree:0

That struck a chord! For ages, I was double counting the benefit of points. Eg, get say 200 points on a £5 spend, and tell myself in Boots logic the item only cost £3. Then somehow believe that when I come to spend the points I am getting a freebie, whereas really it cost £2 iyswim. Very clever marketing as I think a lot of people get caught up into that way of thinking.0

I am certainly rubbish at maths, so I just tell myself that Boots accepts two different currencies - one £ sterling and one points. The "earned" points had a cost attached to them, even if it is only in terms of inflated original pricing. If an item costs £10 then it costs £10 whichever currency you use to pay for it. And I try to remind myself that all prices are set to take into account the two different currencies, but I am also rubbish at remembering that too!0
