Anyone know what happens with the self serve tills?? :)

Will work fine but have been known to beep if more than a few vouchers are used.. however.. i'm pretty sure the sales assistant will be so busy they'll just okay it anyway!

    Good luck :D

Voucher will scan, we will take the voucher from you BUT you won't get your points, any vouchers scanned on the store-wide points events will not be added, or if so, will be removed.

    :/

So you're going to let the vouchers be accepted, take them from us and then the points aren't even added? That sounds a little deceptive to me.

However, I've been doing this for 8 years and every single time my vouchers have scanned on a christmas night... it's just down to the SA. Hopefully everyone will get a nice one..

    Merry christmas!!:A

Can the £50 include phone credit and gift cards or is it for actual products only?

I am also interested to know if phone topups count towards the £50.

I can never remember if topups are eligible for points!

Just to clear a few things up:

    Mailings:
Advantage card holders can receive mailings in the post that are a few pages containing vouchers and information.

Not EVERY card holder will receive this mailing, they're sent at random.

The vouchers enclosed are specific to your spending habits in Boots whilst using your advantage card, so not everyone will get the exact same offers.

How many points will I get at a Boots Shopping Night?
There has always been confusion over whether it will be 1000 or 1200 points. In fact, it has always been the same amount but displayed in different ways by clever marketing.

For every £50 you spend, you will receive:

    A BONUS 1000 points
    +
the regular 200 points for your spend
    (4 points per pound spent * £50 = 200)

SO i'd best split my shopping up?
No, thank goodness! Boots tills will automatically give you 1000 bonus points every single time you hit another increment of £50. Hurray! Also, unlike other shops, Boots 3 for 2's work to give you the best offer so there's no need to work these out either :)

And how much is 1200 worth anyway?
    £12.00 to spend in-store :)

But I can't use vouchers this year? How come?
Since Boots has started running these nights, all vouchers are not allowed. The reason for this is that on every voucher, if you read the small print, it will always say vouchers are not to be used with another voucher or promotion.

Do we take any notice of this? DO we hell:T

The problem arises that staff will be reminded not to allow vouchers on these nights, so they may not be so clueless or willing to stick them through.

If you have a nice sales assistant who is willing to take your vouchers, then go for it. They WILL scan.

Any tips for these nights then?
Always print your vouchers out earlier in the day and have them readily to hand and organised. The machines are always closed off on the night.

The nights get extremely busy. Visit your chosen store some time beforehand and browse at your leisure.. making a list and thinking about your best 3 for 2 combinations. On the big night you can then relax and go straight to what you want.

    Oh and PLEASE remember, 1000 points on a £50 is not 20% off. It's about 16.6% ;)

Another tip - last year, if you went to the first Xmas shopping event in October, they gave you a bonus voucher for 500pts to be used at the second event.

I tried to use the voucher at a different store. It would have worked fine except that the 2nd event was on a different day than was printed on the voucher.

Excuse my lack of maths but how so? I know it's usually 4 points for every pound but surely £10's worth of points back when spending £50 equates to a £20% discount? Plus I think it's £12 worth of points back on the shopping nights anyway :)

I have never been to one of these nights but I am planning on going this year. I also have high street vouchers which I buy every year, these have vouchers at the back, 1000 points for every £50 when using them so I could spend £100 of my vouchers and potentially get 4800 points  =£48

Oh Lord I hope it works for me! I will be looking for the youngest sweetest looking SA at the tills! ;)

I forgot you could get these vouchers!

I used bonus points vouchers with the high street vouchers at the Xmas events for the last 2 years. Except mine were for 500pts for a £50 spend.

Am also confused so bumping your post! (and now wondering if its really obvious and my A-Level from back in the day is now proven itself utterly worthless!:o)

What I understand, I spend £50, I get back £10 in points. £10 of £50 is 20% given back, no?
  • Ive had the vouchhers too.

I was going to but a camera this weekend from boots from £199 to £149.

Is this offer on for this as well or just beauty products? If so ill wait...Little extra thing & thats £36 worth of points for the sale!!!

    xx
