I get some points vouchers through the post but never seem to get any of this information with it.

Is it the same as in store, spend £50 and get 1200 points?

... And is it likely that I'll get the things I want online (delivered to store) as everyone will be rushing to do it, or is it better for me to trek to one of the stores that has the evening event on even though they might not have what I want?

Sorry for all the questions, I got a couple of OOTW last year but didn't want anything of value so didn't take notice of the events. This year I want £40 of stuff so could bump it up to £50 and effectively get some of it free in Boots logic.

It was just the normal boots flyer enclosing extra vouchers, double points etc but there was information about the Christmas Shopping Event - dates for my local store and also the dates for the online. I've done both for the event - online as they have more choice and if I know what I want but if it's lots of wee stockingfillers etc have gone in. When the kids were young I used to stock up on nappies etc and made loads of points!

Can the £50 include phone credit and gift cards or is it for actual products only?

I can't think of anything I use all the time that would add up to a lot like nappies. The main thing I get from Boots is meal deals!

I've bumped my basket up to £54, with that and every thing I already have I think I've got all the presents for my family sorted! :eek: :T

Do the points just go on, the mailing I go had no voucher for the 1,000 points just a card with the date and times for the 3 nearest stores.

Don't worry - points are added when you pay for your shop - no voucher needed.

here we go ladies (& gents!) boosting r points ready for the SALE!! u know the 1...where we need matchsticks and lots of stamina 4 when it goes online post xmas day!!! in the wee hours we sit there hitting that refresh button baskets laden with r favs and fingers r crossed(so r the legs in case we miss it!!) oh how i miss the old boots chat/forum days/nites!!

Just to clear a few things up:

Mailings:
Advantage card holders can receive mailings in the post that are a few pages containing vouchers and information.

Not EVERY card holder will receive this mailing, they're sent at random.

The vouchers enclosed are specific to your spending habits in Boots whilst using your advantage card, so not everyone will get the exact same offers.

How many points will I get at a Boots Shopping Night?
There has always been confusion over whether it will be 1000 or 1200 points. In fact, it has always been the same amount but displayed in different ways by clever marketing.

For every £50 you spend, you will receive:

A BONUS 1000 points
+
the regular 200 points for your spend
(4 points per pound spent * £50 = 200)

No, thank goodness! Boots tills will automatically give you 1000 bonus points every single time you hit another increment of £50. Hurray! Also, unlike other shops, Boots 3 for 2's work to give you the best offer so there's no need to work these out either

And how much is 1200 worth anyway?

But I can't use vouchers this year? How come?
Since Boots has started running these nights, all vouchers are not allowed. The reason for this is that on every voucher, if you read the small print, it will always say vouchers are not to be used with another voucher or promotion.

Do we take any notice of this? DO we hell:T

The problem arises that staff will be reminded not to allow vouchers on these nights, so they may not be so clueless or willing to stick them through.

If you have a nice sales assistant who is willing to take your vouchers, then go for it. They WILL scan.

Any tips for these nights then?
Always print your vouchers out earlier in the day and have them readily to hand and organised. The machines are always closed off on the night.

The nights get extremely busy. Visit your chosen store some time beforehand and browse at your leisure.. making a list and thinking about your best 3 for 2 combinations. On the big night you can then relax and go straight to what you want.

Oh and PLEASE remember, 1000 points on a £50 is not 20% off. It's about 16.6%
