Ferry Operators - France - Ireland - more (merged)

Hello
I've booked to go to France with this company.
They do exist don't they?
They seem so much cheaper than others!
I booked on my card - but I'm worried that when I turn up in Dover they are not going to exist.
Have you been on them?
Are they any good?

    Yes they do exist.

I've not personally travelled on them but know a couple of people that have travelled on them and so far there are no real complaints.

Bear in mind that the nickname for the "seacat" type of craft that Speedferries use are "vomit comets". If you get the slightest bit seasick you are better off travelling by conventional ferry like P&O!

    Yes they do exist.

I've heard that they really are very cheap compared with other cross- chanel companies.

I live in N Ireland. We holiday do a couple of trips to France each year via mainland Britain. We also have family in Scotland and England, so we regularly travel on 'fast' ferries and none of us have ever suffered the dreaded sea-sickness.

forgot to say, you may need to book 2 separate journeys, but that will still work out cheaper

I found, after much searching, that you can save up to 50% on P&O fares if you are flexible with dates/sailing times. Go to https://www.poferries.com and follow the links from "essential info/tips to save more".

Also if you are an AA member there are further discounts if you book by phone. And to save further, use this number (found thanks to saynoto0870.com) 01304 864156.

Apart from the AA, there are others who give member discounts for P&O travel. If anyone has further info on this please post here.

(Will also post this in Days Out...)

Unfortunately we can't be flexible with dates.
Does anyone have a promotional code to get the price cheaper?
