I put it on just now to test it but it made me feel ill. I'd rather wear extra layers, although I suspect the rest of the family won't agree.

Fired it up for a test, then promptly switched it off again.

I did this last week as I suddenly remembered it's not been on for months - and that I was going to put it on once / month after it all ceased last summer

Thankfully - after a few taps with a hammer :o - it did finally come on .... to be promptly turned off again!

It is def getting colder - it was only 14 deg  in the lounge / hall at the weekend .... hoping to hold out for another month + yet!:)

However - I have set the thermostat so it will come on at 12 deg so I guess I'll have to wait and see .....

  • I ran mine for a couple of hours yesterday, but only because I had some laundry that needed drying urgently, and it was raining.
  • Had to light some candles tonight to take the chill off the room. This weather isn't making it easy to put off switching the heating on. Really looking forward to wintery food already.

I didn't want to switch it on yet but I am feeling really poorly, shivers etc. so think I am going down with something. Just had a hot bath to warm me up and a Lemsip. Got a busy day tomorrow so think I will switch the heating off again and go to bed instead.

It has turned colder, for sure but I managed to get my washing out and dried earlier and my OH isn't feeling cold at all. I get the heating allowance for the first time this winter, why do I feel that I am going to need it? Mustn't complain.

Not yet, feels nothing that a dressing gown/jumper and socks won't solve.

Haven't put mine on yet. Flat is well insulated. Was slightly chilly last night getting ready for bed but was toasty under the covers. This morning was perfectly fine temp when got up. Got little extra warmth from the hair dryer. Other than that until I feel cold in a cardigan will be leaving the heating off.
Paid off the last of my unsecured debts in 2016. Then saved up and bought a property. Current aim is to pay off my mortgage as early as possible. Currently over paying every month. Mortgage due to be paid off in 2036 hoping to get it paid off much earlier. Set up my own bespoke spreadsheet to manage my money.
  • Still off but feeling the cold, think it might get a little hot yet if the heating goes on but sitting with the duvet in the house :)
