We didn't have the overnight frost as forecast, although I did leave the heating on low, I don't think the thermostat kicked in (usually wakes me). Littlest ones bedroom was 16deg this morning, according to baby monitor. But she didn't seem cold when she climbed in with me at 6.45

We are playing in the conservatory today, the house feels warm, so I've closed the door and put the convector heater on. The windows were all clear but it did feel chilly in here.

Next month I will probably move the rug and toys into the converted garage, once some of the stuff has been cleared. They can have that as playroom as its warmer, until spring.

We are all electric with storage heaters in the living areas and panels in the bedrooms.

I have the storage heaters on in the living room and hall at the moment as the house is really cold.

I try to keep the bedrooms off as much as possible but I think I may have to give in this evening with the kids rooms and pop them on for a little while.

Our electricity costs are so expensive and we are tied in to Scottish Hydro as they control the heating system we have and no other company can take it on it is Total Control Heating.

Our electricity costs during the winter months are around £50.00 per week and the house is never really warm so I really try to keep it off as much as possible.

Hoping to get Gas central heating installed next year as this is just miserable.

My heating (storage heaters) are on, but on the lowest setting. I was sick of shivering all the time and waking up because I was cold (I have two double thickness duvets on the bed as well). They won't put the heating on at work and we are all freezing even in multiple layers - grrr!

I'm quite happy at the moment, I've turned my storage heaters back off again as it's been quite mild recently. Others in my block are definitely heating and I've managed to line my curtains so I think the heat is staying in a bit better than it might.

I've been using a heated electric throw when sitting on the sofa just to stop my toes getting cold :D

It's so wrong to be cold even at work. Many years ago I worked at H. Samuels the jewellers and our shop was cold so I wore a tank top(it could not be seen)but no one was bothered. Then someone came from HQ and did find out somehow...and he insisted it had to be removed:mad:

Seriously think Are You Being Served and you would not be far wrong as to what our branch was like and yes we did have staff that resembled the characters in that sitcom:rotfl:different names but not in the way they went on.

Heating still off, warm enough in bed but I did have bedsocks and thermals on(plus duvet)

As there is only me, I only have myself to please, I don't watch much tv and can access a laptop...do a lot of radio listening, I'm afraid I nip into bed to keep warm, it's just as easy...if the laptop fails(assuming I can repair/replace it)whilst it is away I would be up more and as I would have to sit and use a desktop and would have to resort to adding more clothes to keep warm...or try to.

Now it's gone to the other extreme and shops are unbearably hot.

We've had heavy snow here today. So the heating has gone on and that's not an issue. My meter was read a couple of weeks ago and I'm £109 in credit and quite pleased with that.

  • I am setting the timers now to come on daily at pre-set times and heating will probably be on now until end of April ish

Temperature has dropped a lot here and I have just been out with the dogs and seen light snow flakes.
