When you get too cold you actually don't feel cold but feel warm and then start to feel sleepy, that is why people don't realise they are suffering from hypothermia till its to late. it follows a pattern feel cold, then shivery, really cold then suddenly feel warm, then sleepy then death. If you have a thermometer I would take your temperature and if its below 98.6F / 37C you need to warm up - most people would say go by temp of your house but your own temp is the best indicator of how cold you are- remember its the inside of you that counts not your hands and feet. Please look after yourself suffering from hypothermia to save money is not worth it honestly.
My temperature seems normal, i must just be getting used to it. I've been stepping the heating down gradually, and keeping warm with blankets, hot water bottles, the dog...I've said to myself that when I do get cold, and it's not helped by these methods, then I'll stick the heating on.
I'm considering trying to borrow a thermometer to check the internal temperature, I'm sure it's always colder in here than outside
Thanks for your advice, it's really appreciated!Roadkill: £0

Just put 20.5 degrees on...
Do not understand why sometimes 18 feel very comfortable and sometimes the same 18 feels freezing....
Will give it an hour and put back on 18...hmmm0 -
Heating back off here, 18.3 degrees so not bad, but the heater switch was broken and kept 'clicking' and I couldn't sleep through it or I may have been tempted to leave it on - was up to 20 degrees with it on for once and felt quite nice!0

No heating on here since I came back from being away over Christmas.
My sister made me laff this evening, complaining that she thought her central heating wasn't working properly in her new flat because she was chilly and her hands were getting so cold. Silly cow had turned her heating down instead of up and it had been turned down for days and days. Still, the upside as I pointed out was that she's saved a couple of quiddles.0 -
Been nice and sunny all day, but went cooler at tea time so my heating is firmly on...................0
