Is your heating ON or OFF?

Definitely not taking 6 baths per day.
I wonder if it is changing the thermostat settings that does affect it?
Had it in 18 for ages, back on 18 now.
Hate my thermostat as it only has 2 on and 2 off settings so I can not (for example) set it for just 2 hours n the morning before I wake up and 2 hours in the evening as I go to bed. It has "day" and "night" options and that is it....so I have to override those if I want heating for just a bit.
Electric baffles me too.. way too much. I do nor iron (at all), do not use hairdryyer (go to bed with wet hair), use hair straighteners once in a blue moon, my oven is electric (hob gas)but do not cook much so what is it?
Kettle only really computer (do not remeber when I had the telly on last time), washing machine perhaps twice per week, electric radiator in the kitchen once in a blue moon and lights...
Am I missing something here?0 -
Just wanted to check how those with economy 7 heating regulate when to use and and not, as I've just change to it and finding it hard to decide how economise with it any suggestions?
thanks0 -

Ironically they plug on, lol. My electricity company sent me one free....maybe yours would too?
It shows me jow much electricity is being used right at the moment ,over the day and the week. Theright now is most useful to me most f the time.....when you see how putting a half ful kettle on rather thana kettle with one mug of water in impacts its really easy to see how yhings add up. E.g. Light bulbs use more than i thought, my tvand pc use far less than i thought.0 -
Try using your washing machine on a cooler programme. Like lostinrates says you could get a meter thingy and find out what's using so much juice.0

If your provider doesn't do the monitor things, try your local library. Mine has a programme where you can check one out indefinitely. I'm not sure of the details as I've been a bit too shy to ask so far, but it looks like its free and only requires you to have a library card. I live in Manchester btw.0

Thanks everyone, will try to get those energy monitors somehow.
My washing machine runs on 40 or 30 degrees.
I only boil "min" n the kettle.
Really puzzled to be honest.
Thanks again.0 -
Started off with rain, that went about 11 o clock and the sun came out and shone for the rest part of the day, temps went up nicely, took advantage and washed all the bedding , put the heating on an hour a go.........0

It's been very mild today again. I have the windows wide open to get some nice fresh air in here. Now that it's dark it's getting a bit too cool so I may close them and just leave them open a crack. If I had some outside space I'd have got some laundry out there.
Talking of laundry: Gettingready do you have a tumble-dryer?0
