Today the thermometers showed it as eight in the kitchen.....and thirteen outside
. Extremely disheartening really.

New bill £95.97
Based on my own readings that I put in just now.
Can not believe it, what to hell was I doing turning down the heating etc when it is only £16 less than the last one when I was walking about in my vest?
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
That is combined gas/electric for a month - a small 2 bed flat, only me living here (dog and 4 cats do not use much)
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Electric 39.11, gas 52.88 (plus VAT)0 -

Is that for the quarter?“Nobody can go back and start a new beginning,
but anyone can start today and make a new ending.”

No, it says in my post - it is for a MONTH :eek:0

GR work out the percentage of saving, not just the cash saving, also...what would £16 buy you of zara 's or the cats food? A good contribution i would have thought. If you get down to a steady 18 or 19 you will feel more comfortable at that tempurature eventually and bewearing a t shirt in those temps.0

Lostinrates - just thought about it.. this bill was from 22nd Dec - had 3 extra people here for a week (my mum, my daughter and her b/f) so extra heating, extra baths/lights/cooking....
For 1 person and small flat this is way to much.
I am with EDF, have prices gone up since Jan this year? Never read what they sent me.... perhaps they did and I missed this info?
Lookign at my lights too:
kitchen - 2x3 of those crazy bulbs
bathroom - 1x3 of those crazy bulbs
bedroom - low energy
other bedroom - always off since daughter moved out
hallway - single 40 bulb
living room - standing lamp with 1 bulb
kitchen and bathroom need looking into.....electricity wise0 -
Nearly one hundred pounds for a month???????
Get that thermostat down, girl. That's outrageous. What sort of hot-water do you have? On demand from a combi boiler or heating up a great big tank?
Those lights with the crazy bulbs (halogen?) won't be eating up significant amounts of power. You don't leave them on all the time, do you? What about cooking: gas or leccy?
Oh: no heating on here still. Was very mild today. Temp in here is 15 and feeling very comfortable.0 -
Combi boiler so on demand. Newish too, only installed when I moved in here - was it 4 or 5 years ago? 4 I think....0

Well, if you're not taking six baths a day, it's the heating. Just turn it down one degree a week and see how you go. You won't notice one degree. Especially if you own a jumper or a fleece0
