My mother and I used to share a bed when I was very little, in a huge unheated house in London. My dad was working somewhere hot. Mother and I used to have races in getting dressed to get up and out of the bed. Only looking back now do I relaise how cold my mother must have been and how hard she must have worked to make things like that fun.:o
Awww lostinrates - what a wonderful memory :)

Mine is set to 15º at the moment as we had such a hoare frost last night, that the trees look like they've had a sprinkling of snow, so I think it'll be another one of those days where I can't get warm.

Got to have a mammogram this afternoon. Not looking forward to it, but at least it'll be warm at the hospital ;)

We have ours set at 12 c overnight though i don't think it actually came on during the night. We have it on 21c between 6am-7.30 and 3.30pm-8.00pm. However the temperature did drop to 12c yesterday during the day and i can tell you it was extremely cold sitting here watching tv, even though i had loads of layers on, a coat and a blanket on top! I had the heating on all day last week when my DD's were off school poorly, but i just can't afford to keep doing this. I wish SAHM's could have a heating allowance lol

Mine in on but I'm rather miffed as it shoudl be OFF having new dining room rad fitted but its not been delivered yet grrrrr. Was off all day yest as hubby fitted new kitchen rad and boy has that made a difference to the temp of the whole down stairs - no freezing doorless kitchen cooling the whole house down - wish we'd done it last winter but live and learn - and at least its only cost us £60 as hubby fitted it...however no excuse not to do the dishes now!

  • Mine's off now. The boiler broke this morning.

British Gas can't come until tomorrow afternoon, and it's freezing
    -13*C outside at the moment.

So, no central heating and no hot water. I've ordered a load of logs which are coming today, but need help to shift them, and OH's friend hasn't returned my call yet.

    Am thoroughly fed up now.

Still cold but less so I think. Heating still on an 50celcius and keeping things bearable. Neighbour told me we should get a thaw on Thursday he thinks.
