I finally caved in tonight. It was very cold in my flat, so I ran the Econ 7 heater on live boost (expensive). I've set the Econ 7 to 4/10 charge level, see how that goes.Happy chappy0

Oooooh me too!
I was trying to hold out until november but it has been freezing here for the past 2 mornings and nights so i have put the heating on for about an hour at a time.
My poor daughter came downstairs about an hour before me this morning and by the time i came down her hands were freezing.
Mind you it is me that usually feels the cold, even with 2 jumpers and warm socks and slippers. Oh and my usual trick of 2 warm duvets and blankets when i go to bed.( I hate being cold)
You can imagine how attractive i look with about 3 layers of clothing on every evening. (no wonder i am single!) lol
Think i might have to invest in some thermals, but Ssshhh.... dont tell anyone or i will be single forever! lol
Well done to those of you that are holding out!

Ooh I remember the scratching the ice off the windows. Mum used to pile all the coats in the house onto our beds too as well as lots of blankets and they were so heavy we couldn't move!
I absolutely hate being cold now and have had heating on for a week or more (hanging head in shame). My OH doesn't feel cold at all and wears T shirts all winter. It has to be really bitter before he even wears a jacket when he goes out - mad!

my ch has been on for a week now. From 5 to 10.30 in the evening. The air outside is very damp most days lately and I like to keep the house aired0

I gave in yesterday & put it on for a couple of hours....not becuase we were cold as we actually had the windows open....but because I was desperate to get some washing dry! The laundry situation has reached crisis point as it is too wet out side to get anything dry & no tumble dryer:pPost Natal Depression is the worst part of giving birth:p
In England we have Mothering Sunday & Father Christmas, Mothers day & Santa Clause are American merchandising tricks:mad: Demonstrate pride in your heirtage by getting it right please people!0 -
I dont have central heating cause i live in the dark ages. However, my gas fires are on downstairs on a low setting and the curtains are drawn at dusk and it seems to be keeping the chill off the place. However, MrJudi is working away at present and i am having to dress up like a scarecrow to go to bed just in case i am cold in the night - i draw the line at shoes in bed though.:D
I am finding that i cant dry my clothes without the tumble dryer. Its been so miserable and wet here and my house isnt warm enough to dry them on a clothes horse so i must be getting through a fortune in electricity drying the clothes.
My boys are walking round in next to nothing though so i guess the house isnt that cold. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
You think you are in the dark ages? We still have warm air heating that blows out of vents in a cupboard in our hallway (in a flat built in the 60s). My OH finally put the heating on last night - funny, cos I'm usually the one who feels the cold.Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.I married Moon 8/4/2011, baby boy born 26/9/2012, Angel Baby Poppy born 8/11/15, Rainbow baby boy born 11/2/20170
