  • Mine's off as I type but was on earlier when the family visitied.

I'm fairly snug in jumper and cardigan with fleece blanket round my knees and a shawl round my shoulders but Oh my nose end is soooo cold.

    Bella.

  • Is there anyone who has still kept their heating completely off? It's 19 degrees in doors and still no heating on here. :T

Yes, me; although I did switch it on for an hour yesterday to figure out what that would cost. I know it was about a cubic meter now all I've got to do is find out how to convert that into pounds, shillings and pence, as it were.

It's 12 degrees in here at the moment and it feels ruddy Baltic so I've got several layers on and my nice mohair blankie over my shoulders. I'm not earning a wage right now so am crippled with fear about what the quarterly bill will be in February or I'd switch the heating on, I'm no masochist.

Overnight forecast for here is 4 degrees below freezing. Brrrrrrr! Luckily I've got my hottie at the ready

At the moment its on as high as I can get it as its freezing here in North Kent.I am £80 odd in the black with my gas heating account and I just can't function unless I'm warm.I have osteo-arthritis in my joints and have to be like a little orchid, and kept warm as much as possible;).I had my heating allowance last week from the Government and if it all gets used up then its cheaper than me ending up in hospital with hyperthermia.I drink lots of hot drinks and wrap up in layers . Looking like the Michelin man at times but better than being cold:rotfl::rotfl:

I have the heating on now from 6.30 am to 8.30am, then comes on again at 3.30pm (when the kids get home) till 10pm. Not in the bedrooms, just one radiator in the hall, the bathroom and the two public rooms. It's been -1'C here for the last two days and despite the huge amount of insulation we have the house is getting a bit too cold to be comfortable without the heating on. We all go round in wool socks and wooly jumpers but there's a limit. I don't keep the house hot enough to be able to sit in t-shirts though, like some folk do. I was visiting a friend yesterday and really, I had to strip down to the thin t-shirt I wear as a vest, I was so hot!

The cats like the heating on too. You can always tell where the unlagged bits of the central heating pipes are in our house...there will be a cat lying on the floor at that spot, sucking the heat up into his belly.

I actually took a cardboard box and made ours a hut out of it that is stuffed with blankets, they love curling up together in it.
