TheBees are trying to last until November!!! Last year we caved in on Oct 29th!!!
DD 12 said she was cold this morning (her room is the coldest as it's above the garage - if anyone has any ideas on how to stop the cold coming from the garage please let me know). Going to dig out the electric blankets and winter duvets today.
I didn't realise it but a few candles in the lounge really help warm it up a bit as well as looking pretty and cosy!Mortgage Free in 3 part 2 challenge - pay off £9000

Mine still most definatly off and will remain off for quite a while! My tennant is naggin me to put it on but I'm not (he is my brother so I can say no to him!) I hardly ever put the heating on, although I have plenty of personal insulation! :P
Maybe thats the way to stop climate change, everyone get chubby!:EasterBun0 -

There is no radiator in our living room so when the heating does go on, it will be for 1.5 hours in morning only. We should last without it until November I think.
There's a gas fire in the living room but I'm going to try going without this too. When I'm working at home I will get a blanket and put it over my legs, then jumpers and tea will keep my top half warm. In the evenings my and my boyfriend can snuggle under the blanket while we watch a film.
There's a Primark opening in town next month, hopefully I can buy some cheap warm clothes there.0 -
It was cold last night and this morning but mine's still off.
I admit that I'm having second thoughts about keeping it off as the temp indoors has been very low - 13.5C at times and tends to be no higher than 17C. I feel ok but I've been doing a bit of research and it seems that temps below 15C put you at higher risk of respiratory infections and cardiovascular problems. I guess it's the elderly, very young, immunocompromised etc who are most at risk but it did get me wondering.
I feel fine so I'll leave it off for now but if I start feeling unwell or too cold it's going straight on.Trying to spend less time on MSE so I can get more done ... it's not going great so far!
Sorry if I don't reply to posts - I'm having MAJOR trouble keeping up these days!

It doesn't seem all that cold, I've not even started wearing jumpers yet. And I washed my hair in cold water this morning!Stompa0

My heating is off and will be staying off for the near future. We have just moved into a new flat with box type radiators at the front door! and one in the livingroom. That we dont know how to work and two electric fan types in the bedroom.
Our electric bill is usually around £100 per month without heating on, our neighbour has just told us she uses her heating 2/3 hours daily in the winter months and her bill shot up £285 per month! We think it will be lots of blankets and then maybe buy a gas fire for when it gets to cold.Any hints/tips advice is appreciated
