Is your heating ON or OFF?

We had to have ours on yesterday - but only because we're in the midst of having a new boiler fitted and it needed to be on full blast for a while. The temp in the house was 25C with all the windows open!!
Definitely won't be going on for a little while yet, once the work is finished. Last year it was the last week in October, so anticipate it will be similar this year.0 -
When I get up at 7.30am, it goes on for about 15 mins...just to help me wake up.:rotfl:A cloudy day is no match for a sunny disposition~ William Arthur Ward ~0

Still off though it is getting cool in the mornings and evenings but I've got my blankets out for when I'm sitting still.0

Off and still sleeping with the bedroom window W_I_D_E open and the curtains open (after I've turned off the light!) to max out on the mild fresh air and early morning daylight hours!
Need the fire on low when I come home late in the evening from work though.0 -
Heating on! no way! Our heating went on in December last year and just for the winter term. I must look to see when that is this year.
Today we are haveing the chimly sweep out though to clean the chimly in the front room. The coal fire does throw off a load of heat.
So getting ready for the cold.If winter comes, can spring be far behind?
Spring begins on 21st March.0 -
It feels much cooler here today, but it is bright and sunny,so no heating yet.I have held out until 1st November for the last 2 years and I aim to do the same this year too.0

I'm afraid it goes on for a wee while in the morning. Started on Monday. I grew up having to get ready for school in a completely freezing house. I vowed my little ones would never have to do that. Tea time? GET A JUMPER ON!0

Have been tempted but I then look at the thermometer and its still 20 degrees in the front room and go and get my slippers0

Not on here yet. We've gone into fleecy PJs though as it does get a bit chilly at night, there has been a touch of frost once or twice. I'm making sure that all of the curtains are shut as soon as it starts getting dark, and cooking casseroles for dinner to keep us warm. I try not to put the heating on until November, then I only put the one (storage) heater on in the living room. I set the (wall panel) heaters in the kids room to come on between 7pm and 7am if it drops below 16 degrees, that way they don't wake up because of feeling cold. It has to be REALLY cold (eg snow or very hard frosts) before I put the storage heater in the kitchen or the wall panel heater in our bedroom on.0

I stuck the central heating on for half an hour last night, just to take the chill out of the air, my DD said she was feeling cold and she already had a thick sweatshirt on. I think she's coming down with a bug or something because she also complained of feeling a bit dizzy.
We live in an old terrace and I find that if it gets cold the house has a "damp" feel to it, so I give the radiators a blast for half an hour or so and that really does make a difference.Dum Spiro Spero0
