I have ours on for half an hour in the morning, just to lure the kids out of bed, then an hour or so in the evening as it gets cold. Some of the radiators are still off though...we all like to sleep in cold bedrooms and the living room gets a lot of heat anyway from downstairs. So really it's just the bathroom towel rail and the lounge radiator on just now.

I do run the system full on for half an hour per month over the summer though. The engineer that put the boiler in said that helped stop the radiators gumming up, or some such technical word.

  • Still off here. I'm also hoping to last till November, which will be a first for me, but I'm really trying hard to stop wasting money this year. I'm not going to allow myself to think cold thoughts!!

It's off, OH needs to replace the diagphragm (however you spell it) in the boiler - he's a trained and CORGI registered plumber/heating engineer, so this is his speciality. It goes on for showers and that's it right now.

I'm freezing. I'm sitting in the kitchen and it says it's between 15 and 18C. It's just started being on in the morning and evening now. If I had my way i'd have it on right now as well. It's only off cos my husband is at home just now. I ask him if I can put on the portable calor gas fire and he says no!

It's a howling gale and dh hung out my washing. I told him not to as the sky was black. It started to pour down when I was taking my daughter back to school. I'm not getting colder and wet by taking it in now. It can stay there until he comes back from picking up our son from the airport!

My youngest son doesn't have college today and he's sitting at the computer wrapped in a duvet. I'm sitting with a bodywarmer and a scarf on (amongst other stuff!)
