i have been switching mine down lower and have been switching it off earlier than usual this last week ,and today i have the heating off and the patio doors are wide open so it must been quite mild here today0

I have well infact i never really turned it on .... If its been cold i have clicked it on for 1 hour but that has been it, as and when its needed ( no set time ) Saying this i have had no central heating for 4 years so its abit of a luxury to have any at all
We have all managed just fine. I havent used my fire since before Christmas either.

Ours still comes on for an hour in the morning and an hour before DD comes home from school, other than that it just gets switched on manually when it gets cold.
It's still too cold up here to do without it all together, my OH received a cold weather payment last week because the temperature had been zero or below for 7 consecutive days!Dum Spiro Spero0 -
I have real problems with the heating. I don't tend to have it on during the day when I'm home on my own. DH has eczema and feels the cold so the heating goes on when he comes home and he sits around in T shirts. He cannot put multi layers of clothes on as this effects his eczema and makes him itch to the point of bleeding. DH also has asthma so the windows have to be open no matter how cold it is, and yes the sitting room radiator is right under the window!January spend = £100

Ours is set to kick in if the temp drops below 15C. Most mornings lately it has been warm enough to stay off. We also have the radiator in our bedroom switched off as i think it is wasted heat when we are only in there to sleep and can add extra blankets (I do have the radiator in DD's room on tho.) If it gets a bit chilly during the evening then we just have the fire on low in the living room. It hasn't really been cold enough where we are for a good couple of weeks since having to actually put the heating on ourselves to warm up the house - but I guess we have been luckyLove and compassion to all x0

We have a district heating system, so we cannot 'turn it off' but what we have done is turn the thermostat down, its quite mild out, the heating is on 2.5 and we have the window open slightly........if it gets really cold again the heating will come on......I hate a warm bedroom too, have to sleep with the window open even when its freezing, oh just burrows under the duvet. Last night I actually slept with the duvet turned down, just had it ove my bottom and legs.........Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0

Mines turned off and the washing is happily drying in the garden. We live in a really small house so the heating can get oppressive really quickly. I have a woodburner and hope to make do with that as much as possible now the weather is improving (also you know what you've spent in advance so smaller bills)

We only have a heater in in the livingroom and conservatory as iit gets mighty cold in there and thats where the pups live for now. No heaters in any bedrooms, and OH keeps turning on the bathroom heater but I quickly turn it off again when he's not looking and leave the door open so heat from LR goes upstairs into bathroom!
Turned down LR heater today but knowing OH he will notice and turn it up again!!!"Life may not always be the party you wish for, but whilst here you may aswell dance"!!!

Won't be turning mine off for a wee while.
I don't have a TD or a drying green at my flat so I rely on the heating to dry clothes. Having said this it opnly comes on in the morning for an hour and a couple of hours in evening.

Due to cold weather we used €450 worth of oil between 5th December and 5th January...almost 1000litres in fact. Heat has now been reduced to 1 hour in morning and about 3 hours in evening...no help for it as OH has been feeling very cold since he had his stroke last September....will have a woodburner in both kitchen and living room between now and next winter and use free wood as much as possible.
