Saturday was fine - and I have the insect bites to prove it! - but yesterday was wet and chilly for the time of year.
The sun has got its hat on for the next few days and I am going to enjoy pottering in the garden Part II.No man is worth crawling on this earth.
So much to read, so little time.1 -
I am feeling very chilly at the moment. If it doesn't heat up later then I will put the heating on for a couple of hours. I'm waiting for a grocery delivery so I won't put it on until they arrive. I saw we are over £90 in credit now as we got an email today.
It is blooming June tomorrow!🤐 I wasn't expecting to have it on again so soon.3 -
Have to confess we,ve switched it on briefly for a couple of chilly periods this week have reached the stage where age and disability are mor important criteria than feeling saintly and catching a chill!5

No way will I be cold

On due to a poorly dog. Had to turn it up for the visiting aged parent dog sitter and realised I quite liked being warm. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.5 -
Not yet. 15C indoors at the moment and it feels ok TBH with enough layers on.

It's been on when needed and off again when not needed during September but now it's definitely on, using the timer in the morning and evening with a boost midday. It was so chilly yesterday I had to override the timer. I can manage with extra layers plus a throw in the evenings but DH can't due to his frailty (lung cancer) and lack of mobility. So on it is.Be kind to others and to yourself too.4

The temperature has dropped noticeably over the past couple of nights. My home seems to have retained a bit of heat over the summer thanks to its south facing aspect and decent insulation (well worth the expense) but I was surprised how cold my parent's home was in comparison on Friday evening. At their age they deserve to be able to switch the heating on without worrying yet they aren't. There is no doubt that older and frail people feel the cold more than fitter people. No man is worth crawling on this earth.

Thermostat at 17°C, the heating has been coming on in the mornings. It was 2°C outside first thing yesterday.
I have started putting on extra layers, and have a hot water bottle at bedtime.
We are paying for what we use monthly, but at least we are getting the interest on our money instead of the utility company.5
