Not had our oil-fired central heating on, but as we haven't yet fitted rads in the main ground floor rooms there would be little point imho.
Otoh, we have a 9kw wood burner in the kitchen that we've lit most evenings and occasionally during the weekend afternoons since Oct. As we have our own supply of seasoned wood to burn I don't feel guilty about that 😉
We have a slightly smaller (7kw) multifuel stove in the living room, but that room hasn't been used since Feb because of ongoing building work. Since last weekend we've also lit the stove in there a couple of evenings to assist with the plaster drying.
Lots of layering during the day, plus a goose down duvet, hot water bottle (and two woolly dogs on our bed!) at night.6 -

She wasnt short of a few bob so it wasnt that she couldn't afford it. We we visited, Id wear tights, leggings and jeans and a thermal vest, shirt and fleece - which I kept on. He house was baltic - to me - and my house isnt hot, but I do warm the living room to 20 between 5 and 9
At the moment that blast of heat is keeping the living room and bedroom to 16 with no heating outside those hours4 -

I reluctantly on for much of the day with thermostat set at 19 degrees as I,m very immobile and can,t move around to keep warm. An early night with a hot water bottle is calling. The white frost on the parts of the garden in shade hasn,t melted all day8
