Is your heating ON or OFF?

It's not so much guilt for me as a mini protest against the energy companies.
Me too, me too! It is exactly how I feel! Woodburning for me is ok because I do not pay the blasted ripoff merchants at the energy companies and scavenge the wood in skips and other places!

For me, like a lot of my old styling, it's because there are things I'd rather spend my money on. When I get to the point that gas is the thing I'd rather spend the money on then I'll turn it on! I do find that having the house cooler makes me more likely to be active- doing housework, sorting out paperwork, sorting through cupboards etc which is an added bonus.
I do find myself looking for places to go on days off though- visiting people, the library etc so I'm less tempted to turn my heating on.:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0 -
You've all inspired me so much. :T
I always felt that if it was cold I'd put the heating on. Now I'm closing curtains, and putting on slippers and fleeces!! I've got the thermostat set for 16 degs.... I know that's pretty lame for some of you, but the heating was set as standard at 19 degs. Set at 16 means that it rarely comes on, and when it does, it's only on for a very short time, which is enough to take the chill off.
I'm quite enjoying it actually! In a perverse sort of fashion!!

I'm feeling very good about myself. We live in the Lake District and have so far not even been tempted to put the heating on. I do however think that our adjoining neighbours (we live in a mid terrace) are putting theirs on early morning and early evenings.
We may even last out till well in to November at this rate- well that's if this flippin baby doesn't make her mind up and come before then!!0 -
Not on yet but rain, hail and snow forecast for some on Tuesday! If it turns wintery it will be on.MFW 1/5/08 £45,789 Cleared mortgage 1/02/13

we haven`t put it on yet and feel fine. Still have the option of putting another layer on and snuggling into a fleece. The kitchen door is normally open but it felt cool so I shut it and one small pan plus the remoska for 20 minutes raised the temperature to 18.5 and I am pleased about holding on because I am another one who is blowed if the energy company is going to get the cash.
If the weather turns wet and cold and I feel too cool in layers then it will be a different matter but I will be happy at having saved at least £2 a day throughout october0 -
I left the crockpot on to make soup and shut the kitchen door. Was really surprized at how much warmer the kitchen felt, just from the crockpot.0

Very mild today in SE London, or maybe I'm just getting used to it - also, wearing my lovely Aldi thermals under my clothes, so not even need for woodstove!
