    Hi all

I read the cats posts with interest, and rememebered that while my husband was studying for a MSc in Environmental Architecture there was a module that measured how many cats you need to heat a room in order for it to be comfortable for human use!

I only got the two, but I love it after they have been sitting on my bed for a while and leave those warm body prints!

Still holding on with no CH (but helped by stove, woolen rugs and hot water bottles at night), and interestingly my DD the other day said that we should try and hold out even after 1st November. When I said "ok then" she laughed and replied "only joking!". Ah well, I would have been up for a challenge.....

Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).
  • Its 15 degrees here and as soon as it hits that I need heat so I've put the Central Heating on for a bit. I was hoping till to hold out till the 1 November its not looking so likely now.....
  • sorry to be thick what does DD, DS etc mean?

I can now put the heating on, the prices has dropped to 42p, only downside is that I put in 1000 lites at 50p and still have 800 left, well that is good news, but cant take advantage of the lower prices!! which is bad news

Put it on for the 2nd time only and it will only be on for a n hour

But wayhey for all those that need Oil, remember to haggle
  • I was thinking of buying flannelette sheets and mentioned to my mum and she gave me her old ones. Shes the kind of person when she changes the room colour she gets all new sheets etc.

Your a lot hardier than me skcollobcat10, im in northeast of scotland and some days I need some heat :o My Raynauds play up otherwise, thats my excuse anyway lol
  • No heating here for us either,me and dear old hubby just came in from daughters and had some tea and crumpets, ended up dancing round the kitchen to the Rolling Stones(don't ask)only stopped because we noticed our neighbour looking on in amusement at us two nearly 60 year olds having a laugh. We're too warm now so we're going to settle down and watch TV with fleeces to the ready.Truth is I'm shattered now and will end up falling asleep as soon as I it sit snuggled under my blanket.
Don't care what happens though I'm not putting my heating on until I'm desperate.
  • Im just a little bit farther up than you ;) I can tell you one thing if I was stuck in a wheelchair id have the heating on loads, youre doing great :)

    Flannel sheets are fantastic.

I treated myself last year to two sets when they were the TSV on QVC - those and my feather mattress and Im still only using a 4.5 tog duvet and no heating in the bedroom (and sleeping better for it)

The one downside is DH is like a hot water bottle so I cant use them when hes home - so they are MY wee treat for me when Im home alone - I never want to get out of bed :)
  • Last night I went to sleep with pjs socks and my fleece baby suit on, and two hot water bottles :o

When the heating kicked in this morning I woke up cooking :D
