Finally caved in two days ago! I thought, "Why should I suffer?" DHdoesn't feel the cold but I do, we have no debt and can afford the small amount of heating we use. Thermals, warm woolies, layers and blankets are my first resort. I've also fixed on a tariff that will slightly undercut our previous deal if we use the same as last year. The difference is this year we have a boiler and new central heating, courtesy of our housing association:). I put it on for 1 hour two evenings running but didn't need it tonight. I set the thermostat at 17 degrees.0

Still off - it's been fairly mild here, and OH's mum donated the mostly loveliest warm throw, so snuggle up under that in the evenings. If we can make it to November I'll be very impressed.0
