  • Yesterday was a spendy day for me :( Had my eyebrows waxed and then went out for a meal with a friend (who ended up paying :) ) so wasn't as big a spendy as I planned for!! Today was a spendy day too :( had to get fuel and a couple bits and bobs from Mr T!! AND I know tomorrow wont be a NSD as I buy my lunch on a Thursday! Ahhhhh!!! Hoping for one Friday/Saturday!! Fingers crossed!!!!

Isn't it funny how now we all look forward to not spending whereas non-DFW people cant wait for payday to go spending!! Hehehe!!!

    1/12 for me today:)

One twelfth of a day today? I didn't know we were allowed fractions... that would make everything a lot easier!! :D
You're spelling is effecting me so much. Im trying not to be phased by it but your all making me loose my mind on mass!! My head is loosing it's hair. I'm going to take myself off the electoral role like I should of done ages ago and move to the Caribean. I already brought my plane ticket, all be it a refundable 1.

    Spend day for me today.....

And I was very, very, VERY naughty on two counts !!! I've effectively banned myself from buying any cakes or bread, and I bought both - in fact the decision to get what I needed today instead of tomorrow was largely made on the basis that a cake I fancied trying was going into reductions (and there were a number of them, so at least one was likely to make it to the final round). The bread wasn't a bakery one, but is a pre-packed (seed and oats) one I adore - and even if I only get half-way through the loaf I'll still have made a saving on it ;)

I've also got another round of 'freezer squeeze' to play, as I picked up 3 pies (1 of a new flavour, and 2 of one of my favourites) at prices I'd have been maaaaad to pass up on :o

As I left work I picked up bananas, fresh mushrooms for the chicken supreme I have planned for Fridays tea (no frozen ones left, and no space for a full bag to go in), milk (a 4pt of 1%, plus a Whoopsied 1pt skimmed - will use and clean/save the 1pt container for [strike]if I ever free up[/strike] when I have enough freezer space to put milk in), and a Whoopsied pack of garlic and herb tortellini. Total spend of £2.99 (£3 after change goes into sealed pot)

Then over to A!di for lettuce (33p against Mr M's 78p) and cucumber (45p against Mr M's 70p), tomatoes (the ones I get here seem to keep much better than the cheap ones from Mr M, so I didn't even bother comparing prices) and eggs. Total spend of £2.72 (£2.80 after change goes into sealed pot)

Then back to Mr M just before 7:30pm for final reductions - came out with the cake, the loaf of bread, the 3 pies and a box of Jelly B@bies (on offer, and highly recommended for carrying on runs - especially those of over an hour - in case an energy top-up is needed). Total spend £4.01 (£4.10 after change goes into sealed pot).

Will be spending tomorrow - but not such that I lose an NSD. Need an official running club top now in case I decide my leg's up to the 5 mile race a week on Sunday (which is still questionable given the pain I was in at the end of my shift having done a slow 3 mile run this morning), as if I don't have one I have to pay an extra £2 on the entry fee. But firstly this is from my 'get fit' kitty which I don't include, and secondly the correct change is in a section of my purse now (as the chap I'm meeting up with to get is unlikely to be carrying change).

EDIT : I've also put some cash to one side for some more small freezer bags. Bought 2 packs (80 bags) last month, but with the freezer sort out I did when I did my meal plan to the end of the year - at which point I split some bagged items into meal portions) - I've only got 4 left, plus the one I took todays tea out of (needs washing) and the one with tomorrows tea in (currently defrosting in the fridge, but can take the contents out of the bag tonight and wash that one as well)..... and I have 11 tubs that have chilli or spag bol in them that need tipping into bags to free up some space (plus the three pies from today that need bags, and some cooked mini chicken fillets that really need splitting up further) :o

    Hi all,

Well i'm on my third NSD i;m on a roll!!!!

    So 3/10 for me !!!
  • And thankyou to everyone for the support last month. Saved a packet to put towards debt. Including money saved from NSD's and overtime I have managed to pay £600 of our overdrafts, (did this 1st as found out the interest is a scary 19.5%) plus cleared the £195 left on my Credit Card.

:T:T:T Well done. I'm not a DFW but currently saving for that big holiday next year (only 386 days to go :T)...............and I like the chat :o

I remember that one! It stayed with me for ages too :) I really liked S&S (I'm 40 and think it was on very late 70s?) - I remember having a Lumley haircut for my aunt's wedding - very bowl head, looking at the pics :D

I'm 38 and that sounds about right. Just looked it up on Wiki. Some scary haircuts there!

No NSD today, not sure if we'll get one tomorrow either as it's FIL's funeral. DH was a bit quiet today. Think it might finally be hitting home what happened to him. Will probably see you on Friday. Take care everyone.
Life is knowing which bridges to burn and which bridges to build!
