    Hi all

Do I want to order a people tree goody bag from the email? Is it worth losing a NSD for? Do I need anymore clothes? Am I just enticed by the idea of it being a lucky dip??

Of course nicca I remember planning to start making clothes myself like you are starting to. I got a sewing machine, I even bought a pattern or 2, but thats about it. Problem is I remembered I like my clothes with lycra in them and that seems like it would be very hard to sew.

I'm only a novice sewer, but I have managed to make 2 dresses with stretchy lycra-type material. It was a pain, but they both turned out well. Got through it with a bit of swearing and lots of pins :D

  • Hi! Just had a quick scan of the thread and it sounds brilliant so I'm wondering if I can join in please :)

I've moved back in with my parents so luckily no grocery buying for me but I do have a bad habit of buying really unnecessary items quite frequently :o

So I'm going to aim for 12NSD! Unfortunately a ruptured ear drum over the weekend meant I had to fork out £16 for medication !

    So that's 12 NSD's and I have achieved 2 so far :T

....Saved a packet to put towards debt. Including money saved from NSD's and overtime I have managed to pay £600 of our overdrafts, (did this 1st as found out the interest is a scary 19.5%) plus cleared the £195 left on my Credit Card.
:T Well Done that CFL! It's nice to hear some good news & you must feel chuffed to little meatballs :p It was the little spends & how quickly they add up into a scary amount that surprised me the most when I began on this Challenge. Now I can look in my purse knowing there's something keeping the moths at bay & I like that feeling more than anything :)

No 4 yesterday--should think so too with what I bought Monday :o --& a roast dinner to savour for tonight's meal  With The Offspring being older, there may as well be a revolving front door to the house on the weekends, as one or other is out..tis like the Hokey Cokey :rotfl:

Hya all, declaring today as NSD no 4 :j, really pleased so far...lets hope I can keep this up!

Spent this morning peeling and chopping tomatoes, tomatillos, courgettes, apples and onions...now have a lovely big pot of HFW's Glutney Chutney on the go, and it smells wonderful!!

I used green toms and tomatillos (as recommended in his Preserves book) instead of red & green toms...and it looks great!! Also, I will know what to do with any plums we get given next year! We don't really like plums, preferring greengages and damsons...but being on the edge of Plum County....we do get offerred loads!!!

On the lookout for a red cabbage preserve...not found one I fancy yet....but would be a waste of the two large red cabbages I have in my veg store (came in delivered veg boxes). We already have plenty of cabbage and apple in the freezer...and I am the only one who likes it, so eying up something that I can give as Xmas pressies instead!!

Looks like my printer is working again, the chap rang back last night to say it was a faulty cartridge (one of theirs), so replacing it and not charging me anything!! I need to buy a couple of cartridges, but I am really pleased, as we were considering having to replace it. I could have gone back and picked it up yesterday, or even today, but conserving my NSDs and will get it and the new cartridges tomorrow as I have a few more bits to get...the things we do to get a few more NSDs under our belt!!:o

Right, off to do a bit more sewing before taking the dog a walk...lovely sunny day here now!! :D

  • Hi all

Declaring today as no 4 as a NSD. Finding plenty of things to do around the house to keep myself occupied until the baby arrives and as I don't actually need anything I'm finding it quite easy to occupy myself rather than go shopping and aimlessly spend money.

I am however creating my soon to be here daughter's first Christmas scrapbook. Might as well start it now as I don't think I will have too much time to do it when she arrives!

Hope everyone as a good NSD today :)

  • 2nd NSD for me today. I had thought I would have to buy lunch because I got up too late to make some, but then I remembered that we get lunch provided if we are staying for a Parents' Evening so no money changed hands! No chance of spending later as I haven't brought any money and the shops will be shut anyway by the time I leave here.

    Cheers
