No Buying Toiletries in October Challenge

I've UU a Herbal Essences Shine Enhancing Conditioner with berry tea and orange flower extracts for normal hair. It's always pleasing to finish a conditioner or shampoo, as at the start of this challenge this was my biggest stockpile (I estimate I still have enough to keep me going for 2011!).0

whilst waiting for DH to return from prowling round the garden to see what had spooked the cat late last night I watched a bit of QVC,
God those women can talk:eek::eek::eek:
they were selling L'occitan stuff in a big box which looked lovely BUT the price did not seem that good to me as I stock up when they have their sales or gifts for subscribers, could not believe it when they said 5,000 sets had been sold.
they also sold mens aftershave but did not say what you were suppossed to save by buying from them!!!Also you had to pay postage but if you buy online over a certain amount you get free post anyway....seems a big con to me!0 -
UUs!
-Marks & Spencer Calming Facial Wash-WIBA? Yes this is one of my faves at the cheaper end of the market. Good for sensitive skin however got some minis to use up first.
-Hotel shower gel. One of the horrible blue ones. Glad it's gone.
-Nelsons Face wipes- were a prize/freebie. WIBA? No-not for my skin type. Made my skin dry.
-Simple face wipes-also freebie and also not for my skin type as also for more spotty/oily skin so have been using up gradually.
No ins apart from free stuff in signature and think I can make things last til Nov. So no spends on toiletries in Oct (hopefully!)Since starting again after beanie: June 2016: Child development DVDs, Massive Attack tickets. July: Aberystwyth trip, hotmilk nightie. Aug: £10 Hipp Organic vouchers, powerpack. September: Sunglasses. October: £30 poundland vouchers.0 -

Very often I will watch the TSV with the mute button on. I want some peace and bl**dy quiet to look at the offer. Not hearing droning voices. I thought the set was VERY expensive. And lets not be daft here, as much as that stuff probably smells gorgeous it is just shower gel, hand wash and the like. If you went into Debenhams with £50 you could come away with a Chanel No5 body wash and lotion. Or if you went into Boots, some gorgeous stuff. And into £land - well pretty much the entire shop!

And I was doing so well... I watched an online video from Lisa Eldridge (fab make up artist) and she showed this Leighton Denny Embellish me nail polish. That was it - I was like a possessed woman on the hunt for dark purple nail polish - to be fair I didn't have any, and I dont have that many colours.
But I bought.....4!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A Revlon one - which is so disappointing that I think I will have to email them. Dreadful.
A Maybelline one - gorgeous, got it on now and feels fab. ONly a couple of quid. Really vampy.
Two Rimmel ones - not tried yet.
So as pennance I am getting rid of nail polishes that I am not using - so will be packaging them up to go to a friend. Honestly, after 10 months of doing this challenge I still have moments like this. Well if its any comfort to myself I spent the same amount of money getting 4 as I would have just getting the one Leighton Denny - which would probably have to have been mail order and meant I would have got other stuff too.
(((((((((((((((((Hides head in shame)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))).......covered by gorgeous talons!

No more UUs for me but I have managed to stay out of Boots big points spend this weekend and also offline where there's been some good bootsing going on! lolLife is a coin, you can spend it anyway you wish, but you can only spend it once.
Go as far as you can see, and when you get there you'll see further.

I took some time today to go through my 9 drawers, 4 large toiletry bags and other various hidey holes of stash and have donated some items to my family and had to toss out a few out of date products.
Donated
1. P & P cleaner & Toner for dry/normal 10ml (not my skin type). Got large set with 10 pieces half price in Jan sale.
2. Thalgo wrinkle control freebie (passed to mum).
3. Skin Doctors exfoliater - skin reacted badly to it.
4. Goldfish shampoo - didn't suit my hair - made it really greasy and flat.
Binned
1. Darphin cleanser & toner 40mls bottles with an exp date of 4 years ago!!! (Gift and not my skin type).
2. Dried out wet wipes (can’t even remember when I opened them).
I also found 2 Decleor products - clay mask and body exfoliater also had a used by date eighteen months ago. I did a test and both still seem fine so have put them in the "use now" pile.
Can't help feeling what a waste. Hopefully now that I have joined this challenge I will not need to bin anything else due to poor stock rotation.

I think lots of us found body lotions that had to be used up on feet at the start of the challenge.
I took advantage of the points weekend thing and bought 2 of the sanctuary gift boxes. I thought that they were a good price so got one for MiL for Christmas and the other for my Sister. The kids wanted a drink, then I got 3 toothpastes (3 for 2) and I had run out. I then saw big tubs of sanctuary body stuff (souffle?) for £6ish on 3 for 2. So I got them to get me over the £50. When I got through the till, I realised that they were actually £9.99 each, took me ages and I was getting really flustered at the self scanners as I couldn't get the sanctuary boxes to come up at £19.
Anyhoo, I may return the lotions but I expect that they will be used as Christmas gifts. I'm quite chuffed at having gained these points as well as having got the big boxes at less than 1/2 price.
Best of all, none is going in my stash
. Although I would love to have one in my bathroom
