  • After having a read of this thread I decided to look through all the stuff I have and it's crazy how it all mounts up. I have so many hair styling products I dont think I'll need to buy them for at least 6 months. Body washes and scrubs should last about a year! Though part of me still thinks buying S&G on Boots OOTW is a good idea lol. Once my stockpile goes down I will have so much more storage but I dont think thats a good idea either! Part of me know this will be a struggle as whenever I see items under £1 or in Poundland I always buy them but after realising I have 2.7 Litres of body lotion, 1 litre of deodorant, 2 litres of hair products and over 4 litres of shampoo and conditioner I have a problem! So wish me luck.

I have had quiet a good week using up products. UU's are BS Vitamin C facial scrub, the product was ok but I prefer a bit sharper facial scrub. Also, used up Umberto Giannini's flirty curls scrunching jelly, this is my favourite hair styling product so have already opened a new up. I have got kinky hair and using this product makes my hair a bit more curly and it makes my hair shiny. This is is a bargain product £1.89 or so for 50 ml but this lasts me months but then I only wash my hair once a week.

I have bought a few products this month, all products that I needed. I now have £63 in my saving pot from this challenge.

Good luck to you all with this challenge.

It's been a really slow week for UU this week. Only L'Occitane Hydration Ultra Moisturiser 30mls which I had opened ages ago and finally finished off. WNBA as it just didn't seem to suit my skin type. I am back on a previously abandoned Elizabeth Arden Skin Simple moisture lotion which is 2/3rds UU already.

Clinique repairwear eye cream 10ml. Free sample and already have another freebie in the stash. I am moving on to a 3/4 empty P & P eye cream.

WOW! It doesn't look that much dotted around the house. There's me and my 8 yr old daughter at home so it shouldn't be that hard not to spend. I will probably need conditioner, we go through tons, although as the purpose of this is to use up what we have I may be surprised.
Things I know I will purchase are Wilkinsons frizz free serum and Superdrug colour performance. I have to do my roots every 2 weeks but I have a secret weapon, my Superdrug 30% off homebrand discount card, courtesy of a very dear friend who works there and gave me her friends and family card, so all legit. I buy the hair dye when its on offer already of 2 for £ 5 and then the 30% off of that, but even without the discount I would still say its a bargain, you get a lush conditioner tube in it just as good as the more expensive brands. I have been dying my hair since I was 19, 37 now and this is the best I've used. I must admit if yr looking to save money by changing your brands I can honestly recommend their hair dye and the 2true nail varnish, it is just as good as Rimmel.
I will also buy dove soap we go through this like water too and my daughter will need mouthwash as although I have ton's its too strong for her.

    So I am going to attempt to get through until December with only buying;

    Superdrug colour performance
    Wilkinsons frizz free serum
    Dove soap
    Children's mouthwash

    I hope I haven't bored you too much :-)

hi, I have struck through my used ups, still not purchased anymore but shopping tomorrow so that'll be the test.

have painted my toe nails in 17 peacock.

found a little elnett hairspray in a handbag yesterday which was a bonus as i'd ran out, dont use it much other than when I go out.

Is a BAD BAD BAD BAD GIRL!

I was in town...I went to Boots....1000 points for an over £50 spend....and God did I spend!
    INS:
John Frieda brunette shiny conditioner/shampoo and serum
    Sugar scrub (big tub of)
Shea Butter and Almond shower gel - have been missing this!
    Deodrant x 2...on offer...
Tea tree peel off face mask
    tea tree face scrub
    tea tree moisturiser
Foundation (my other one was too pale)
Mascara - needed! I have none!
    Blusher - again needed
    Eye liner
    Hand cream - needed
Hairbrush - paddle, again needed, needed a new one for ages
Vaseline lip thing - forgot where I put it now....

    BUT:
    OUTS
Herbal essences shampoo/conditioner - made my hair lank, greasy and generally disgusting....So it was binned.
Moisturiser as it smelt funny and didn't feel right
Face wash - FINALLY used it up and feel better :D

Started the toothpaste and mouthwash and they're definitely helping, teeth aren't as sensitive.....won't need to buy ANYTHING for MONTHS now....
ETA: P.S. I saved £13 in Boots and nearly £60 in H&M ( I paid 6 quid for six tops which should have been pover 60 altogether) so it was good all in all.
    ** Total debt: £6950.82 ± May NSDs 1/10 **
    ** Fat Bum Shrinking: -7/56lbs **
    **SPC 2012 #1498 -£152 and 1499 ***
I do it all because I'm scared.
  • Hey,
I finally bit the bullet today and spent £25 on Philip Kingsley Elasticizer, which I'm keeping out of the bathroom to ensure noone else snaffles any of it! I'm looking forward to trying it out tomorrow. Other than that, I haven't bought anything since my last posts. I was tempted to stock up with the Boots offer, but realised I would have spent £75 on toiletries, which is quite a horrifying thought! I am running low on everything now so I hope they have the offer at some point in November.
Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend!

Which of the conditioners do you use, please? I'm very interested in trying them. I have long, dark blond, naturally wavy but slightly frizzy hair.

Also, where do you buy them from? I can see they're on amazon with free shipping. I was thinking of trying there first as I have a gift card. If they're cheaper elsewhere, though, I'd order elsewhere :)

Hi IllonaRN - I use the 'Straight Away' conditioner. I have shoulder length hair which gets really tangled up. I have put up with the humiliation of hairdressers muttering about the state of it and I have in the past broken brushes trying to get it untangled but find that with this stuff the brush just glides through.

My local Tesco stocked it up until recently, I bought one bottle to try it out and then loved it so much I went back and bought up all the bottles on their clearance shelf! However, when my stash is finished I will have to buy it online. The Tara Smith website lists the following two websites as stockists:

    http://www.bodycare2000.com/s/c/c/tara_smith_organic_hair_care.asp

    http://www.cultbeauty.co.uk/results.php?q=tara+smith

Have one miserable UU to report - Theramed toothpaste - have another in the stash along with 3 other types of toothpaste waiting to be used - what was I thinking of stockpiling toothpaste - am I subconsciously expecting a worldwide toothpaste shortage??????
Or am I just addicted to spending? Don't answer that!

    happy pampering ladies, xx

Realising how much stuff you have is the first step. So welcome aboard.

I bought some Nivea body lotion reduced in Waitrose to use asa hand cream at work (find this more than anything - ie using hand cream - helps improve the nails and make them grow.)

Bought some of that L'Oreal eye make up remover as the Botanics one is a bit stingy. Will see how I go. Bit naughty as I didnt need it yet but if I get on with it better then that has to be good.

Didnt buy a L'Oreal lipgloss - have loads. Yay me.

Didnt buy a chemical free deodorant - as have one in stash. Yay me.

    :A

Me too. Think it's got something to do with the weather changing. Less skin exposed, easier to be lazy about defuzzing, moisturising , pampering feet etc...........I must try harder!

Also now my hair is long enough, wearing itup in a big clip quite a lot, so sometimes stretch an extra day, instead of washing and conditioning every day, so less product used.

Good in a MSE way I suppose....why doesn't it feel it??!!
