Have book-marked the Instant Holidays site as shown by TRAVELMAN and done some searches, i.e. Balaerics in September, All Inclusive. Prices not bad but still dearer than a similar search on Teletext Holidays. One company I can heartily recommend is Travel City Direct for both Florida and Majorca

PLEASE tell me the logic in this??!

I've just booked 2 passengers to the Moon Palace in Mexico, 6 nights for £759 a head (this was tailor-made & a good 3150 cheaper than the main Tour Op's)-customers happy-no discount asked for or haggling!

I've just had 2 calls-1 from a guy wanting Rhodes-I found him a deal at £129 & he said 'no thanks-I've been quoted £89'-to which I replied'well you'd better book it then'??!! This left him a bit quiet at which point he said 'what can you do it for' & i replied '£129'. Wht do peoplle do this on holidays as cheap as this ??!

2nd call was for Crete-similar date-this time found a deal for £109 all-in for s/c (!)-lady said to me 'do it for £89 & I'll book it with you now!'-to which I replied 'sure-would you like me to drive you to the airport as well??!'.

Point I'm making is that the customers who were paying over £700 never asked for a discount (we could not have done anyway but that's not the point) BUT thise that were quoted already ridiculously cheap prices thought we had the margin to discount further !

I can't see any logic in this but thought I'd share it with you!!

    happy holiday hunting!

Its a case of DONT ASK you WONT GET. Just because £129 is cheap doesn't mean it cant be cheaper. Even if it was going for a penny I'd still ask if I could have it for Free with a cashback. ;D ;D ;D ;)

Budget flyer-I completely agree with the 'if you don't ask you don't get' philosophy BUT my point is why does no-one ever seem to ask when they are paying big (£700+) money yet it's always people who are offered prices that are already very low??

Also-the 'making-up' of prices to try & beat down the price-what people forget is that we KNOW what's in the market place & if someone comes on & lies-we don't spend much time with them!

Funny old game getting good holiday deals for people-if there are just 2 seats on the flight & you mention this you can almost sense the 'well he would say this' going through your customers mind & by the time your customer has come back to you the holiday has either gone-OR as happens often in lates-it's gone up! No one ever beleives you when you say 'just 2 seats left'!

    Can't understand human nature!!

Travalman, can you tell me more about the Moon Palace deal? Does this include flights and is it all inclusive? What dates is that based on? Can you get similar prices throughout the year. I have no specific dates in mind but always thought that this was a really expensive hotel.
