Evening ladies. Had a bit of a scare earlier - I was getting loads of pains in my back - I started to panic 'cos I haven't even packed my hospital bag yet - I blame the excitement of the football (Liverpool won 3-1). Thankfully they stopped!!! I found out that I had a little win too over at the Alota stamps blog - I won some oval nesties - I think they're the eyelet ones, so now I've got to buy some plain ovals to go with them!!!

Butler_Helen - I can't believe that you read through that much - it must have taken your hours!!! Welcome to the thread! I'm so flattered that you like my card - all the images that I use are from stamps - I fell out with my printer years ago!! I used an impress black ink pad to stamp it out (this ink pad works well with promarkers), and stamped onto this card. I've only just treated myself to this card - its quite expensive but has a lovely finish. They are alternatives - quite a few stores sell their own versions. I could send you some of the stamped images if you like although be warned I am useless at getting stuff sent out - it takes me ages - I owe Rusty and Craftygranny some bits (I haven't forgotten ladies - I'm just rubbish!) If you'd like some just PM me your address. If you have any more questions feel free to ask!!

Flourgirl - beautiful Mother's Day card, the inside is gorgeous too!

Lizalloareds/flyingfresian - glad to hear you had a fab time!

Viclspence - Great cards - the images are fab!

Dawnteabag - lovely card - the colours are really pretty and I love the ribbon at the bottom.

Rusty - your flower is gorgeous - glad to hear you bought some fab things to cheer you up!

    !

snopped you, just trim the eyelets off carefully, I do this with my lacey squares as I can't be bothered to buy square nesties, plus it saves money!

Rainmac - Yes I am here :j:j:j:j:j:j:j and gone again :rotfl: off to bed, morphine is in full swing, aswell as the sleepy ones I have aswell! whoops!

try and be back tomorrow xxx

Sorry, I'm slipping with keeping up again.....

Good to see you posting again Rusty your flower is lovely, hope you get some progress tomorrow with hospital.

Skiergirl - good to see you too, look forward to seeing your blog.

Keep calm! Melissa - and get that bag packed just in case. ;)

OAP Liz and FF - glad you all had a good time at the SECC.

Butler_Helen -Welcome! Wow at reading all those pages.... I have trouble catching up 3 or 4! I'm not so good at stamping but have certainly had good crisp results using Memento Tuxedo black ink and coated paper is good to colour on. Also Lily of the Valley (LOTV) do packs of already coloured cute picture squares that I find very useful. I also print images onto the good smooth card.

Soma - Well Done on your DT post

Dragonllew - well done on your win & hope your back is easing.

Saw my eye surgeon on Friday and he is pleased with progress, so far, but gave me some stinging drops to use for the next 4 weeks. I go back to see him in 8 weeks. Don't think it will ever go back to what it was before but I'm grateful I can see at all.

Thanks marg! Hope you get some ease with new drops! I think you have the right attitude about being grateful to see at all!! Must be hard though!

Flying fresion had a quick peek at your blog looks like you got a fair bit! I saw Lavinia stamps at a show local to me in jan or earlymfeb! They had a how to make Thingy (sorry can't think of word) and I wanted to buy loads! But left it! Kept thinking would I be able to do backgrounds like that etc etc! Remembered that I did buy a beater on sat! Going to try it with inks I have at home and see how I get on'before I spend money on pretty colour inks!

Sun is shining here but it's all frozen and frosty out! That's just looking out of window! Looks like I have a day of being stuck in bed to look forward to! Can't wait for Maddison to get home as she lies in bed with me demanding that I read her books to her! Makes me feel a bit normal!

    Have a good day all!

Congrats on the DT position - are these purely for the love of the craft, or is there usually some kind of benefit?

Never heard of a Pazzle machine, had a quick look last night and it looks quite impressive - expensive but impressive.

And now, to make sure I comply with the whole money saving ethic of the website would like to know how many of you are familiar with "Sure Cuts a Lot" (SCAL) software. My sister advised me to download it so that I won't have to spend a fortune on Cricut cartridges - I downloaded it from the manufacturer's website. It was on offer for $59 (which is about £40 - about the cost of one cartridge i believe) but I also found a discount code which gave me another 10% off so it ended up costing me £34.02.

Also downloaded a free programme called Inkscape, also advised by my sister.

Apparently, with this software, you can do away with the need for cartridges, but the Cricut does need to have a cartridge installed so that it works. It also needs to be linked to a pc, which I understand is not the point of such a machine. But if it's free, then it works for me.

All I need now is the machine itself.
