Morning everyone, sorry I've not been on for the last few days, we went up to Aberdeen on Saturday and hubby got a parking ticket so that will be £30 less to spend at the SECC

hope everyone has a good day

Liz, do you know if Dawn Silver has been away? It's been two weeks since my cheque should have arrived and I've heard nothing (no reply to an email I sent last week - I've sent another today) and the cheque's not been presented.

Hi ladies, not much happening here - went to see my midwife earlier for the usual checkup. She was telling me that because of all the hospital cuts the private rooms that used to be available at my local hospital for when you give birth and afterwards have all been closed, and that its back to using the wards now. I'm really disappointed as last time it was lovely to have my own bathroom and tv. She was saying that because they are understaffed they're sending the new mothers home quite soon after giving birth and at all hours in the day - even 4 in the morning. I'm not looking forward to it, sounds really dire, I was telling her that last time OH got tea and biscuits while I was screaming out in agony, she said she doubts he'll get them this time!!!!!

Nannyboo - its good to hear from you, sorry about your niece - hope she recovers soon and that your brother gets in touch. For stamping I'm using the white card from craftwork cards, its quite expensive though. I know other people use rymans card too.

Glittermum - can't believe your punch broke - typical - just when you need to use it loads!

Flying_fresian - Really pretty card, the paper is lovely - I don't think I've seen it before!

Lizalloareds - Lovely, delicate card - love the stamps.

Addams - fab idea for a challenge.

    Hi all
A little up date on my DIL ,s broken wrist, she has to go in tomorrow for an op to have wires in it to keep it stable, she should have stayed in today ,but her OH ,my son was in hospital having polyps removed from his voicebox ,[for about the 10th time]so no one to have their 2 boys until tonight.
My son is home now, these ops are pretty routine to him ,hes been having them since a teenager, hes nearly 40.
Wish our car was back hate not being able to help ,couldnt even pick the boys up from school for her.had to rely on my youngest daughter to come up and take me for my weekly shop today, nice to get out for a while, but my legs know about it now,had to take pain killers when I got home and a soak in the bath helped.
Great challenge Addams ,will make a mum card next then, lol.
Hope everyone is ok ,been quiet on here today, only 1 page to read .
    xxx hugs to all.
Earnings £245 in 2014:T thanks to swagbucks

PepPop, thanks for the suggestions. I did notice in October that the prices at the different stalls varied a lot so am going to be frugal this time ;)

I am going to make a card for the challenge tonight - I've made some Mother's Day cards for orders recently, but haven't done one for my mum yet

Addams I've just emailed you your blinkie - just follow the instructions I've sent you and it should be ok - if you have any problems let me know and I'll give you a hand. Nice challenge mmmm need to think about that one...

Melissa that sounds grim! I can't believe they would send you home in the middle of the night

Artydoll I don't envy your DIL - hope she gets well soon.

I'm off for a mammoth blog hop - I think I'm about a month behind again... Oh don't you hate it when life gets in the way of things Aargh! Anyhoo I'm determined I'm gonna catch up so watch out for some really obscure comments winging your way
  • Melissa surely you don't labour on a ward though  you would have a private room on the labour suite surely?
i really noticed the difference at the hospital both times i had sections ds1 i was in for 5 days had great food for lunch and tea time, Also they would do hot drinks and sarnis for supper for when partners had gone. I had great pain relief and aftercare, Although i was on a ward not in a room it was almost like i was in a hotel not hospital

ds2 i was in a private room which i did love but felt i didn't get the same care, i was left to get on with things myself, had barely any pain relief and had to keep asking for meds, new drips catheter and canulas to be changed or taken out. They kicked me out within 50 hrs and i couldn't walk hubby had to get me a wheelchair from outside the hospital.

Taking about hospitals i hope rusty is ok i read on FB the ambos came out to take her. At least they should get her sorted hopefully.

Oh and my ds1 has to have an op soon too he is quite deaf so is having gromits fitted to see if they will work first.

Off to find an image for a man, i really hate doing mens cards!

Great challenge Adams congrats on the win, I have a nice LOTV stamp i want to use for my mum so i will start that soon.

He's on the waiting list but is already getting worried about it, I have a quite sensitive little boy bless him, They said it could be april so i made sure it wasn't going to be around his birthday.

typical his school reading book is about the body and he was asking tonight if they will but a needle in his hand to get blood out!

Think i am going to have buy a digi stamp, i just don't have anything manly that i haven't done for the person before.

omg i have just found harry potter digi's they would be perfect for my hubby's bday (not who's card i am ment to be looking for at the minute though) $3 a stamp or $15 for the set mmm £10 is a bit much but they are fab.
