Been trying to craft all day but life has got in the way, been food shopping and popped into the craft shop on the way got some new paper and white card.

Catch up tomorrow cooking a Sunday roast as OH has done his back in I thought I would cook him something nice

Macma I use DST on ribbons although I still haven't found a good glue to use on organza though.
  • Blimey Mary - you do go through a lot - hope that never happens here as we only have one door and don't fancy climbing out the front room window :rotfl:

OH has been a complete child this afternoon his team lost the old firm so he claimed he had never felt so depressed in his life before and went to the pub - fortunately he's now dropped off to sleep after murdering our tea and being a complete p1ll0ck - sorry for the rant am really really :mad: lol!

Anyhoo it meant I had time to play with a sketch DD did for me for the bingo challenge it's on my mutterings, mumbling or mardy flouncings :rotfl::rotfl:

What is it about cats today? Mine decided to have a chew on my roses and was promptly sick - probably 'coz nobody had bothered to feed her last night I stupidly assumed when OH filled her water he checked her biscuits as well :o

Yeah Mad-Frog I use DST ,would love to use paper fastener type things but it gets a bit "clumpy".
Sorry to hear about the OH s back:( my better half has a back that "goes" it happened once on the lottie planting spuds, they sent two ambulances ,they couldn't lift him (too painful) so they put a ramp to the door and he crawled VERY slowly on hands and knees.
At A&E he was red faced as he was covered in "muck" having rotovated the yearly dose in the plot the day before. He kept telling them he wasn't sleeping rough but wasn't sure they believed him !:rotfl:
It's funny now but very painful at the time .

have made another card woo-hoo! just waiting for glitter to dry before globbing it. I really like this one :)

wording on cards - using your computer, die cuts and peel offs helps. I cheat even more nowadays and use craftwork cards die cut sentiments! or my Tim Holtz sentiment stamps! I find it one of the most tiring steps sometimes because it's usually the last thing I add and it can completely mess up a beautifully crafted card if I'm not careful.

Macma - ribbon is truly a pain in the bum! I've tried to avoid it at the moment and tend to avoid ribbon by stamping or using martha stewart punches to create nice borders and trims. If I do have to attach it I sometimes use repositional herma glue on the back (it's a roller type of semi-dry glue) or just use dst/sellotape to secure the ribbon round the back of the card - if you know what I mean.

Well that was a short "me time"

Dandy (cat) decided to be sick on the carpet, Monty (dog) went to eat it OH shouted "no" so Monty did the next best thing and rolled in it.:mad::mad: So I am back after cleaning the carpet, bathing the dog, cuddling the cat and glaring at OH for making half hearted atttempt to help with the carpet(and watch football). He will however clean up the bathroom ....or else..... ah pets they bring such joy into our lives:)

OAP - sorry but I haven't laughed so much in ages at the picture you conjured up with the antics of your pets as rainmac says I thought we were the only ones too!

Afternoon ladies, just gettin cosy watching the cycling on tv although not sure why as I watch half behind a cushion when they fall off:eek:

Padster - my friends DH is the same if BFC lose

Twinkle/Oap - enjoy the SECC - I am waiting for the slightly tamer Harrogate Papercrafts I've been really good and not bought for ages to try and save up. (ooh p.s. cinnamon cashews sound lovely are they home made???).
CT - hope to get your surfer in the post first class tomorrow xx

Right back to watching these nutters on bikes - lovely thighs though - cough!;)

Ali.B - that's going to be my treat for missing my holiday abroad . I sent for my ticket yesterday. We are planning to stay over that way for a few days. Not watched today but cycling is one of the few sports I love to watch especially the Tour de France :)

Padster - my friend's DH is the same if BFC lose! I wonder what they'd do if something really bad happened?

Mary - £79:eek: At least you'll be safe in your beds tonight x

Macma - sorry can't help with techie 'buttons'. I use DST for ribbon on cards but I try to anchor it either side to the back of the paper so the 'front' is just loose IYSWIM and add any bow separately.
  • I have had quite a successful crafty day today, plus made a carrot cake to boot. Cards are on my special place
Life is like a box of chocolates..........you always seem to pick the hard ones!

Mary - nightmare - can you dock his pocket money - lol!
Marg - what day are you going?? I'm hoping to go there on the Saturday. (Better not throw any more strops with oh as he is taking me - lol) I try to persuade him to drop me off as he must be bored senseless but I think he likes to keep an eye on what I spend plus sometimes hes quite good at spotting a bargain when I tell him what I'm looking for and what sort of price I can get it for on line - aye he has his uses!!
  • I use DST on ribbon as well - it's only since I won tons at Crafty Ribbons that I've really started using it though - if you find any way of making organza play nicely please let me know - it's the only thing I've found that even diamond glaze won't stick :o

Soma - re your query on my blog - DD would be chuffed to buttons if you used her sketch - let me know if you use it and I'll get her to have a look :D

  • So much for me replying little and often, this still seems a long post!

flying_fresian - glad you found your papers - hope they arrive soon
Padster - Congrats on your win and a holiday to look forward to - well maybe not after reading your latest post, LOL. Never assume as far as Ohs and chores are concerned!
rainmac - great that your DS is getting better, hope the baking went well
ali.b. - shopping with husbands in tow is often fraught - or is it just me?
craftygranny - no snow here yet, fingers crossed. Hope yours is soon gone
twinkledust - I received that email about soles of the feet too, interesting to hear that it does actually work
suesad - well done on making your first card and hope you’ll feel brave enough to share soon.
Mad-Frog - good on the cleaning duties finished and now you can craft away in peace
Georgiegirl - fab news on your card sales and well done
lizalloareds - hope your snow doesn't hang around for long
artydoll - well done on your eBay card getting a bid
viclspence - thanks for info on Crafts Beautiful mag. Good that things looking better for DD’s Dad, hope they had a good visit.
flourgirl - well done on your card sales too
Soma - fingers crossed that you get a call to be on a DT - you have some lovely cards on your homepage
OAP - sounds like you got some great crafty bargains and love your animal antics, have had much the same scenario in the past
RebekahR - I also do my words on computer, then matt and layer them also have some stamp setiments or sometimes use peel-offs
Macma - can’t help with computer Q but with ribbon usually attach ends on the reverse with DST but I recently used a line of thin DST along the length of ribbon and it worked fairly well.

Am feeling almost organised! Have managed to get LOTV stamps EZ mounted, stamped out on A4 card which I then laminated and now in storage binder with said stamps stuck to it. I will eventually get some order from the chaos!

  • Um - is there a problem with the Thanks button - it keeps re-appearing on posts I've already thanked. Have thanked them all again just in case!
