  • ok.. Ive had a quick read and see that Fifi is back , so is thrifty ..So welcome back

Thanks Choccie - yes I'm back - I keep up with all you lovely ladies during tea-breaks and in the evenings. Card-making - nope, that's not back although I'm sure I will get back to it at some point :o. Most of my energy at the moment is being taken up with decorating - 5 rooms done :j - 3 left to go. When the weather improves, I must also start on the garden - we're talking years of neglect where our house and garden have received very little tlc but at last things are improving - slowly but surely.

    Take care all, Thriftyxxx

Mornin' all! :D:D:D Blue sky over the backwaters of Essex today.

First things first, a huge THANK YOU for all the absolutely beautiful cards you made for me and the beautiful gifties I had too. I'll be blogging them real soon. The cakes you made were amazing and I had my red cozzie on as we reverse our colours in your own birthday month. I took my purple hat off before diving into the cakes, I'm very protective of it, it's a bit special. Note to self: get OH to take a birthday piccy for the glob.

I hope you had great birthdays Mad-Frog and CT, cards are on the way.

I was supposed to have both my own sons for the day on Saturday but one is proper poorly and the other is a bit down, he has dental problems because of the radiotherapy he had a couple of years ago. Still, the sheperds pie was super, we have to have 'sludge' as he calls it, it's easy to eat and not a lot of chewing. :D

Lovely to see those that have been MIA back in the fold.

Hope the finger is better soon, Rusty.

Lovely bag, rainmac. I shall be treating myself to a new Tula or Radley bag soon, can't wait!

The Paper Mill shop closing in MacArthur Glen, thats out of order! I think there's a Range shop in one of the other two retail parks, I'll have to find it 'cos the GD's will need stash soon. Yippee! they are coming for the weekend soon. The littlies are better but my daughter posted a pic of one of them tonsils, horrid, why don't they take them out anymore??

    I'll be back soon.

:mad::mad: Rant time from The Wife: I just spent *awd knows how long trying to get one of my son's in to see a doctor. Mind you, if he was here in front of me right now I think I would give a bl**dy good slap as I've been telling him (He's forty!) for the last two years to register with a doctor where he lives. He can't get into see a doctor but must go to one of the walk-in clinics/hospitals. Well, I like nothing better than taking on the Ava Brauns of this world who man a doctor's reception. One was amazingly helpful but the other, where he wants to register, was like talking to a brick wall. If he could get his papers round to the doctors they would register him (he's in bed, says me) can't do it by post as they have to check his passport/drivers licence (well, that was done by his previous doctor! No answer!) they had to do it for their own security, (says me, Are you casting aspersions on the other receptionists and saying they're sloppy! No answer!) When he's registered then they would make him an appointment for a couple of weeks time. Sorry but I couldn't resist it and said, 'It's quite obvious to anyone sick that by the time they get to see a doctor they're either going to be better or dead, so how could they be too busy to deal with a patient waiting to register? Why have they got emergency appointments for 4-7 days time, when did the NHS issue us with crystal balls? Previous receptionist at this doctors told him that because he hadn't got his NHS number they couldn't register him as they hadn't the resources to make enquiries not even phone his old doctor, well, you're answering the phone so there must be a phone/fax that you could use? Bum! she put the phone down on me.

Rant over :Dsmiles cos i live in the country and can get to see a doc within 24 hours or see nursey if it's up to antibiotics level

My hubby is a house husband so he'll be around, the postie doesn't arrive until 1pm at ours anyway! Thanks very much.

  • Do you know wifey - this country's gawn to the dogs. If you haven't got money to go private for everything, basically, you are stuffed. Those idiots up in Westminster wouldn't know real life if it bit them on their well-heeled @rses.

The earliest appt I could get for my own doctor was 5 weeks . I applied for a dental check-up for the family in October last year - we still have not made it up to the top of the list to even get assigned an appointment - we are heading for two years since we were last seen .

Empathetic rant over :rotfl: - hope your son gets seen soon.

help!I lost my favourite decoupage scissors,my local craft shop where I bought them was waiting for an order so I popped in The Range. I bought Xcut ones and they're hopeless  or is the little screw thing (which wasn't on my old pair)some device to make them cut right at the tips? Which I can't make them do:( Or are any of you fab folk into channeling the spirits who might find my favourite pair:rotfl:
THE-WIFE you have my sympathies,I know surgeries are often ovewhelmed by time-wasters but they seem to make life difficult for the wrong folk.I hope he gets sorted soon:)
