Making cards - Ideas (part 5)

Eager_Elephant wrote: »Hi,
FF has recommended I post over here.
This was my question to her:
Please could you help?
I have found this and wondered if I can have some guidance on how to make it/make it better/nicer etc, obviously it will be a card and not a box.
I have been to a haberdashery place and ordered some red roses, should be here Tues.
I then went to the Stationers and got red glittery card, white glittery card and white card.
Obviously I need the ribbon which I can get from the haberdashery place but how will I make the top bit with the writing on?
Or anything else you think might help, I have a number of craft shops in the next town so should be able to get most things.
Since I wrote the above I have collected 50 little red roses and also purchased some red organza and some red ribbon with hearts on.
I have also purchased some red card ready to make my envelope.
Any suggestions gratefully received.
I am also a little stuck about what wording to put on the front as of course the box is used to store cards in and I want to make it as a wedding card
Thanks for all your help
EE
Thanks everyone for your help!!
Just one last question, what is the best glue to use for sticking the roses on to the glittery card - they are fabric?
Or maybe I shouldn't be using glue?

Rusty that's terrible I hope she's not too uncomfortable poor little thing. It does seem that the world has gone mad when people who are employed to care for our children aren't allowed to care for them! Also, if staff aren't allowed to assist, what happens with these babies that are left all day?? Surely they don't have dirty nappies on all day??0

RustyPoor little miss - I agree with KMS if they aren't allowed to help little ones then why are children sent to school so young. What about nurseries that take babies - at what age do they decide the children have to do it themselves!!0

Hello Bunbun So glad to 'see' you on here. You don't have to make cards or anything to come and chat with us and has an added bonus that it's FREE! I try to be good & not buy unless I'm absolutely sure I will use something. I for one would love to hear about your money making and what your boys are up to so please don't stay away. x0

Hi Liz I have done a bit of a tutorial on my whatsit, you will probably be totally confused by it, as I am really carp at describing how to make something. Let me know how you get on please x0 -
Hi Bunbun Its so lovely to see you here. Please do keep in touch, why don't you blog your money making activities so we can give you lots of encouragement. As Marg says it is FREE to come and chat to us on here. I too am trying to be good and not buy anymore stash until I have used up stuff thats overflowing in the drawers. We are watching the pennies too, who isn't at the moment. How are your boys doing, are they still doing a bit of performing?0

Afternoon ladies, I've got the veg ready for tea so feel justified popping on here;) :
Arty - no you didnt miss the parents - no sign of them.
Rusty - our school nursery is the same not allowed to help the kids I think they do at a private nursery but when it comes to the school I think its a bit of safety for the teachers in they cant get accused of anything (its a sad world) and teaching the kids to become independant (sp?)- at such a young age!!. It wouldnt be so bad if they had wipes or even decent loo roll!!!
BunBun - waves!!
Right I'll go and do another job and then a little blog hop - catch you later xx0 -

Bunbun:wave:
Best get back to it - I can't be bothered today - anyone know the lottery numbers for this weekend0 -
Rusty I can understand how you feel, Willow had the same problems at her school and my DIL had to go and see them quite often, she is older now and able to cope but still wants spare pants and wet wipes in her bag. I think at 3 they should really be supervised and be able to have help if they are in a bit of trouble, I would hate to think a kiddie of mine was walking around with a sore botty apart from is being distressing for the child. Hope she is feeling more comfortable now xx
Thanks, I wonder if I send wet wipes into the school with her and tell her to get her wipes out? I just can't see another way around it!!Rusty - Postie's been but only brought junk mail - sorry - will let you know as soon as I get yours.
Sorry I posted & ran earlier & didn't comment on poor Missy's plight. It's appalling at that age they are still babies (not that they'd be pleased to hear me say that) It's such a fundamental basic need. If the people employed AND vetted to look after children can't be trusted to help them if needed what the H**l are they doing? Rant over.......
 Everyone!
I totally agree, think I will be having strong words tomorrow, and if that doesn't work then I will have no choice but to speak to the head which will upset them even more as they feel I will be going over their head (had issues before and went direct to the head!! whoops!)i have just been speaking to rusty and she has told me I need to come on here and say hello to you all.
I am really sorry I have been AWOL for so long. I haven't really made any cards for so long so don't have much to contribute at the moment and would feel a fraud if I came on here. I am also trying really hard to get our finances back on an even keel and and am trying to spend money on nothing but essentials (I have my fingers in my ears so I can't hear you all sayin "but stash IS essential:rotfl:). If I come on here there is too much temptation!
I am also just a teeny (well alot actually!) bit obsessed with money making and that is taking up alot of my time.
rusty pointed out to me that my blog has not been updated since October - it must be feeling very neglected:(
oops I go missing for ages then write a long post - sorry:D
I have missed everyone on here and will try and make some cards and will be back soon.
Oooh look what the cat dragged in :rotfl: :rotfl: nice to see you here ... not only do you neglect your blog but you neglect your poor favourite crafting friend :rotfl: xxxx
I still have Bunbun's birthday pressie here :rotfl:
Right time to get stroppy little madam ready to get Tom... I made the executive decision that I will walk to school.... I may not be able to walk back but I will walk there LOL .... I could be gone some time or spend some time suffering from the agony afterwards!!Raising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0
