  • Hi,

FF has recommended I post over here.

This was my question to her:

    Please could you help?

    I have found
this and wondered if I can have some guidance on how to make it/make it better/nicer etc, obviously it will be a card and not a box.

I have been to a haberdashery place and ordered some red roses, should be here Tues.

I then went to the Stationers and got red glittery card, white glittery card and white card.

Obviously I need the ribbon which I can get from the haberdashery place but how will I make the top bit with the writing on?

Or anything else you think might help, I have a number of craft shops in the next town so should be able to get most things.

Since I wrote the above I have collected 50 little red roses and also purchased some red organza and some red ribbon with hearts on.

I have also purchased some red card ready to make my envelope.

    Any suggestions gratefully received.

I am also a little stuck about what wording to put on the front as of course the box is used to store cards in and I want to make it as a wedding card

    Thanks for all your help

  • Evening all!!! Congrats to the latest winners.

kms - the seller you need for the personalised stamps is this one. He is excellent and you get the stamp really fast. He has several different designs to choose from.

flourgirl - the invites look fab and so do the boxes!! Very professional looking. Well done!

PepPop - wow long post!!!! Hope you are feeling better now.

I've just posted some pics of my first sock elephant on my homepage. I made another batch of fimo cupcakes a few days back also and will hopefully use them for card toppers tomorrow. They are fab for that!

    Welcome to any newbies!!!!

Artydoll - the puppy looks gorgeous!! I find the little flowers come in really useful, its nice to have a selection of sizes - I find it hard to resist getting them in every colour and size, a lot of the time though even though I've got so many I end up colouring white ones with my promarkers to get the right shade.

Congrats to our latest winner - fab card!

Eager_Elephant - sorry if I sound thick but am I right in thinking that you want to make a wedding card but make it so that it resembles the style of the box one? If so it sounds like you have everything that you need. A good idea might be to download a heart shape and print it off so that you can use it as a template when you're positioning your flowers, although if you're good at drawing (not like me) you might be able to draw it yourself. I think the secret to nice wedding cards is to keep them simple but classy. I would maybe matt and layer some card (basically just use 2 different colours of card one on top of the other so that the bottom one frames the top) and then position your heart on top of that. Self-adhesive gems always look really pretty on wedding cards too. I would maybe consider making a box to put your card in as sometimes when you use the 3d flowers on a card they are quite tall and you end up having to squeeze the card into the envelope which seems a shame when you've spent so long on the card. I hope I have been some help!!!!!

Thank you :) - I'd seen several different elephants but none were what I wanted!! If I make another one the trunk may look different as I drew it freehand on the back of the sock!!!!:rotfl:

Mine arrived today, and apart from the fact that I can't print out plain images of the bunny and his pals (although I suppose I could desaturate them and make thm black and white) I love them.

If you have a Wilkinsons near you, I noticed the other day they have some pearlised card you can print on, and both the works and poundland sell basic card.
  • It's time for My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding!!!!!

I made alittle order yesterday on Pink Gem for a few more sentiment stamps as I loved the ones I had ordered the other day. Also they had an extra 10% discount until midnight yesterday!!!
