  • Morning all. Snowing here too :( bit of a shock really as it's not been cold, so seems to have appeared from no-where! Just hope it doesn't come to anything.

Glad you got your CBV2 Rusty - seemed a good price too. I was supposed to have gone to the Oyster Stamps sale this morning, but didn't wake up until 10:30 (sods law really I never sleep in and the one day I wanted to be up and out I overlay!!).

Better get off of here as I have a mountain of ironing to do :(

    afternoon
kms I have no idea about that die haven't seen it before
Artydoll and Wanna-b - can't beleive it's snowing. Which areas do you live in? It's just a lot colder here in West Yorkshire but I'm hoping it doesn't snow fingers crossed.
I had a go at altering some papermania boxes yesterday - I just used paper with atg tape (similar to double sided) and dries clear glue which I hope is good enough! I also used acrylic paint which dried really quickly which was nice.

Does anyone have any experience of cricut create/gypsy and Ideal World? I bought a create and gypsy from Ideal World in September and today found that one of the connectors on the gypsy had broken so rang them to get it exchanged! Well twenty minutes later and a lot of arguing i got the impression they don't want to replace it and were trying to get me to accept a refund. I've bought about 6 cartridges for it, which are all linked to the gypsy, and said I really wanted a replacement but i knew that the cartridges couldn't be re-linked. They were adament that it could and that they would send a courier to collect it next monday and i had to put a covering letter in it to say whether i wanted a refund or a replacement.

When i put down the phone i rung provocraft who make the device (there is a number on the boxes) and they said that the cartridges can't be relinked to a new gypsy and that once i received the new gypsy I would need to then contact them and they would come and collect it and would then 're'serialise' the gypsy so that the cartridges think its the same machine.

So the long and the short of it is that the £500 item i bought three months ago as an early xmas present and have only just paid off I may not be able to get a replacement for. I'm a tad annoyed and needed to rant. Sorry folks!

Viclspence I bought (OH did!) the same system but C & C do spout on about being a recognised seller of Provocraft so should actually be able to do something for you. Have you been on the Cricut Forum www.cricut.com and follow the link about this problem. Did you phone Provocraft in the US or is there a number in Europe? (just for my info) I'm sure you are right about not being able to re-link them

Personally, I followed advice on the Cricut forum about NOT linking my carts to the Gypsy. If you sync regularly you'll get all the new carts as they come out so perhaps just getting a new Gypsy might be the answer, you still will have all your cartridges and you will be able to use them. I think you have to insert the particular cart in the Cricut when it finds a design on the Gypsy that you want to cut.

I hope this makes sense to you and if I can help any further, pm me and I'll send you my email addy
