Making cards - Ideas (part 5)

I hope everyone is okay! Got to get everything sorted tomorrow to take to my Mum's, OH is going to play santa tomorrow too and go out delivering presents! Poor little Elliot has been ill with a cold for a week plus he's teething so he's not happy at all!

Rainmac - my ribbons were terrible - I had them stored everywhere - a few hours later with the help of some cardboard and some pins and they're all sorted. My due date is the 3rd April - I'm quite big already but it seems like I've got ages to go. At least I've got my bump to keep me warm in this cold weather! My mojo must have ran off with yours - although mine disappeared months ago!

PepPop - those flowers are gorgeous! I want them all!!!!!

Lizalloareds - sorry to hear that you're not feeling better - hopefully it will all be cleared up by xmas day.

Scatty - congrats on your DT position!

Jowri - what fantastic news - now you can relax and have a great xmas!

Flourgirl - glad to hear that you got your heating sorted - what a nightmare. Your mince pies look delicious - I'm the only one that eats them in my house - I treated myself to a box of 6 from Tesco the other day, I bet they're not as tasty as yours though!

Thanks everyone, i have previously shown my DD how to iron and i asked her to do a bit tonight but she says she can't do it and it's my fault because i am left handed so we had words and she is now in her room(she is 14), so the ironing is still sitting

just having a mini break from what is the massive task of wrapping. I have such a big family and think we should really only do the children nowadays but it's hard to please everyone. My mum thinks everyone is being stingy by doing so and wants to carry on giving to everyone but also came up with the secret santa idea if peeps don't want to give to everyone, one of my brothers has put his foot down and said he is only giving to the children but then said he may give a little something to peeps, grandparents says no presents for them but they have sent my kids things so i feel i should get them something. Then i have others that don't really want to give but end up always giving us vouchers so they don't have to think about what to give.
I think a secret santa is a great idea. then it is one or two gifts for members of the family and can have a set amount of money on it and spend time to get something thoughtful. But it would take a lot of sorting out and once again it didn't get done. So here i am sat surrounded and can not move for presents. I hate it really cos xmas isn't about this but it causes so many problems and headaches.

Sorry I have been AWOL and haven't caught up at all!! I really did hope to show my face a bit more in here but it never seems to work out that way!

I am in so much pain that I have had to bite the bullet and book an appointment to see the doctor on thursday next week. From there I will be referred back to the consultant and will probably result in another needle in my spine! GRRR why can't it just go away! :mad:

Dragonllew - Did your prize arrive yet? think it was thursday last week I posted it? I know things are delayed though?

I have a card which is auto posting to my blog tomorrow, I feel so guilty as last night my SIL came round to watch a film with me and the kids, she asked if I could make her a card for her Nan for christmas (which I did) Her Nan was given only days to live a couple of weeks ago and was still hanging on. I gave my SIL the card to take away with her last night (once glossy accents were dry!) and then this morning she called to say her Nan had passed away! (SIL is my OH's step sister so not blood related) I feel so guilty as she never got to give her Nan the card she had asked for I had to edit my blog post for tomorrow to say that she never made it through the night last night

Anyway enough of me babbling, one of tomorrow's tasks is to make a sympathy card! Urgh

Thank you all for your good wishes with dh and I have to say the cake was amazing, i read most of the posts yesterday and cannot remember anything, but I have a pile of ironing still rainmac it just never ends,

I am going up to make an exploding box for my Mum it's her birthday today and I have got her a pandora charm so I thought I would make a box to go with it, along the same lines as her card I think, we still have ice down here but the roads are getting better,

Rusty that is sad, mine has not arrived either, but I know mine has been received thankfully
have a good one everybody and if the box works out I'll blog it

We haven't had post all week just cos of 6 inches of snow! so i won't get my secret santa gift before xmas but it will be a nice surprise when it does come.
I hope my gift gets to my person though as we have sent a few things ourselves the last time we got snow bad and they have been lost in the post. I nearly put my postcode on the back so it could be traced or returned to sender but then that defeats the whole point of secret santa so i didn't do it.
Please all post when we get them as i sent it first class so it should be there by now.

Rusty I have just emailed you What a shame Nan didn't manage to see her special card, bet she is looking down at it today though. Such sad news for your family xx

We had a nightmare last night about 10.30 till after midnight...... burst pipe in the loft:eek::eek: we were sat watching tv and heard a plopping noise, it was water dripping through the ceiling onto the dining table just missing my laptop but catching DHs phone. The loft insulation was sopping wet and what a mess we had to remove it and chuck it outside. DH was putting new joints on the pipe about midnight :eek: this morning it looks ok and is drying out, the walls are a bit streaky and look a mess but nothing we cant fix with a bit of emulsion. We had the heater on in the loft all night :eek: So I will be on a stash diet for January to pay the electric bill lol.

Sorry to hear some of you are still waiting for parcels to arrive, I posted something to Plymouth in November and it still hasn't arrived:mad: Yet I bought DH a new GPS (for flying) and that only took a couple of days, (shruggy smilie).

Don't know if I will have time to post again so if not I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas and stay warm and safe xxx
