Artydoll Maybe you could set the challenge and let it run for a month, that way any spare time lol we have we can give it a go. We could save posting them on the blogs until the last week.
  • Oh KMS you're a star hun - I just want to confirm something before I order a back issue ;)

Woo hoo............... just heard son-in-law got the job :j, slightly lower salary than his previous one but if the firm performs well (which it has done, increasing it's income over the last three years) then he will get a bonus to make it up to his previous salary. What a fabulous Xmas pressie for them.

OH phoned, a driver has managed to get through and he's on his way home. Fingers crossed they don't have to turn back but if they do he can stay in his room and the kitchen will be open for the rest of the ward. If he makes it home I just hope he can get back on Monday as it would be awful to interrupt the treatment.

Snow hasn't stopped here. The tracks I made in the original 3" to get to the bird feeder have now been covered completely and you'd hardly know I'd been out. Not looking good to take Poppy to the groomers on Monday or getting to my hair appointment next week :(. I'm not a fan of snow, any takers???????? :rotfl:

TomsMom That's fantastic news for your SIL :T:T Got everything crossed for your OH to make it home safely (and back there on Monday). Sorry but I won't be taking your snow - we've had it for a fortnight now and I'm sooooo sick of it.
  • Tomsmum - fab news, things finally seem to be looking up for you. x

It's just started snowing here and it's laying - we never get snow here normally and it wasn't forecast for us til tomorrow. Car temp is showing as -3 so not looking forward to having to venture out. Stay safe folks. x

    Hello all :j
Thanks for your good wishes for OH. His mate took him to the pub for an hour today - came home and made huge shopping list to get from supermarket !!
He always does the shopping and wants to do it himself............if his mate drives him down tomorrow and brings it all back at least it'll be done.
(depending on the weather)..........if not, there's always local taxis -they're very good at loading up folks shopping to bring home and unloading it once its here. I'd go myself but he makes such a hoo ha about it.............wants to feel as independant as he can. I can understand that. So, today, out came the card making stuff as I'd forgotten my friends Christmas card...............all done now but at least I felt a bit ''normal'' (whatever that is........lol:rotfl:)

    Take care and stay warm
I would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

Awwww, OH got half way home then the roads were horrendous, just two tyre tracks rapidly filling up with falling snow so they've turned back and he'll stay at the hospital over the weekend . Oh well, better safe than sorry and he will be able to continue his treatment as long as the staff can get back in on Monday. I hope he can get home for Christmas.

We're like you WBR, we rarely get snow here on the coast. We've been here for 16 years and this is about the third time we've had snow, the only year we've had two lots of snow and the only time it's lain for more than a day, we've never had it this deep before, it's about 4" in the garden at the moment.

Oh, what's that I hear? Ooooh, choccy calling, must dash :rotfl: .

TomsMom - so pleased about your SIL new job, it must be such a relief to finally have some good news for your family. Really sorry your OH hasn't made it home from the hospital, fingers crossed it will be ok for him to come back for Christmas

Artydoll - I haven't been making anything for challenges lately, but may find time over the christmas break, so I think an extended challenge would be fab, as flourgirl has suggested.

We have a covering of snow here, and hoping it melts away and we don't get it again. Loads of things to get done, go places at the weekend and would be gutted if I can't get out. I'm behind on organising everything for Christmas as it is.

Fab news about a pink bundle for Melissa - she must be over the moon.

PepPop - how is the new job going for your OH?

Will try to come back on late, but must make a start on making another 5 kitchen organisers.

Take care everyone, and hugs to those that need them.
2016 is the year I am going to find time for me, and cherish the time I spend with my friends and family.
It is also time to save - Aim £4,000 - So far this year - £230/£4,000

Oh TomsMom that's a shame Huge HUGS

CT It's a bit up and down at the moment. He gets his first appraisal next week and it's not looking good. He's got to lift really heavy weights (100kg) and he can't do it - he thinks because he can't they won't keep him on. It's a bit unfair because all the other guys have cranes and carriers but he has to do it himself. I'll find out more tonight :(
